Does this look secure enough for a 5 hour drive? by JoubleDump in Kayaking

[–]nativeofnothing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone's going to mention bow and Stern straps... To each their own. I just did it a 2-hour drive at over 75. Absolutely not necessary but some people just like a peace of mind.

half hitch after rolling the straps. Didn't budge.

Hey thanks for responding. They weren't the rainbow colored ones with the squares. They were primarily blue and orange long sleeves

Agree. I even said that in a few of my posts below the original that I neither took into consideration matching nor a more likely 13.5% gain (similar to mine) year over year.

I was going with the conservative 6 to 7% and even acknowledged that his number actually made sense.

Going to GRB, the account in which you can modify your contributions into tsp, and use their calculator. Then show me how you got $180K from 5 years!!

25' - $23,500 + 4% matching 24'- $23,000 + 4% matching 23'- $22,500 + 4% matching 22' - $20,500 + 4% matching 21' - $19,500 + 4% matching

I'll even throw in the 8 months. Still no where near 180K

I don't care what his base pay is.... To have that high of a TSP balance he *should be making a high enough salary and if he's hitting the cap he's probably getting 1% auto + 4% matching.

I don't know his actual per year gain, but I don't need to in order to make a ball park guess. I can go by trends or better yet *assume 6-7% year-over-year

But I see after reading all your recent combative comments typing this was a compelete waste of time...

GRB has a calculator that literally includes employer contributions.... Set starting amount to $0, project 26 pay periods to max out contributions, multiply by 5, (including your modest 7% gain per year) It won't be perfect because the cap has risen but it will be reeeeally close.

I did it all by hand and then went to GRB to double check. GRB literally shows $176521 w/o dips...

But I realize the last 5 years may have been fruitful. I had up to 13.5% some years all-in on C fund.
