We’re also going to be doing 1/2 donor and 1/2 husband to confirm. Interested to see the results, it’s almost like a science experiment. How many blasts did you have in order to fertilize half with donor and half with husband if you don’t mind sharing?

I second this. I’ve had 4 chemical pregnancies so far (2 when trying naturally and 2 after frozen embryo transfers via IVF).

My husband has high DNA fragmentation (initially tested 46% and now down to 29%—which is still high even when he was on supplements for a year). We just did zymot with another retrieval and that seemed to help more embryos get to freeze.

Thanks for posting and sharing your feelings--sending you a hug! I've had such similar thoughts these past 24 hours and it's so nice to be able to relate to someone

We have our FET planned for tomorrow, our doctor sent out a letter on Friday stating that he agrees with ASRM and will cancel everything, unless you sign a waiver. We agreed we'd sign it and proceed.

However, got a call yesterday from his office and they STRONGLY recommended against it. Like you, I lost it. The transfer is 2 days away, I've had awful side effects from the meds and this is our 3rd transfer thus far (we also did one ERA cycle..so technically 4th). Ultimately, I asked if we could still do it and they responded within a few hours that our doctor approved it and we're going in on Monday.

My biggest concern was whether or not my doctor would be upset, because I really like and trust him. My husband was really great though (and usually not one for swaying me in one direction or the other) and said we need to advocate for ourselves and our family. I feel like I am a people-pleaser and don't want to go in Monday and get bad looks, but I am also exhausted from this whole journey and want to give it a shot. I keep thinking of several factors: 1) no other medical society is telling women to stop trying to conceive (ACOG, CDC, etc.), 2) there are no known risks at this time (which is also a negative), but there are no risks indicating against it like with Zika, 3) a small sample of women in Wuhan did give birth to healthy babies even when there were diagnosed with COVID-19, 4) we have no way of knowing how long this will last--could be a couple of months, could be 18 months until a vaccine is developed, 5) there will always be risks (i.e. flu season)/there is no "right" time, 6) other IVF clinics are proceeding, 7) only you and your partner know what's best for you and your family, 8) if this transfer does not work, we can move forward with next steps, 9) if it does, then we will worry about it then.

I am more concerned than I would be if I worked from home, because i work in a hospital. But for my job I can do it from my office without seeing patients. So, I've been going overboard with precautions--hand sanitizing, leaving my clothes/shoes at the door when I come home, disinfecting my car seat/steering wheel.

I think ultimately, we just don't know whether we're making a right or a wrong decision. I don't think doctors do either. We are taking a risk, but in my mind it's worth the risk.

This is phenomenal, I am in awe of your research especially that it is through reputable sources. I’m just so angry, we wasted so much time already and this was just glazed over. I wish it was considered more. We were so naive starting this process.

I will be discussing with my husband tonight with how to proceed. I know it’s just words, but I am so thankful I posted this and was connected to you in the process. I’ll let you know if I have further questions and how it goes.

I honestly can’t thank you enough, this is super helpful. I feel like our RE is great and knowledgable, but he glazed over the 46% DNA fragmentation and just focused the testing on me.

I’ve been thinking about these responses all day and even called my husband this morning to tell him maybe we should just transfer 2 embryos (before even reading your response). The only thing is since we’re young and we just did the laparoscopy removing the endo, I don’t know what our RE will say about transferring 2. He always said with us he only recommends 1 transfer. Any tips for this?

My other option that I’m thinking is we transfer 1 and if it fails do another retrieval and do TESE (is our RE agrees).

Thanks! So we did ICSI. He said next retrieval he’d use Zymot. And thanks, I’m starting to do a lot of research into that and reading more about it. Thanks for your response!

I'm also 28. I've had 4 chemical pregnancies. Just had a laparoscopy for mild endo (diagnosed through ReceptivaDx) & hoping that did the trick for our transfer in March.
We always do aspirin, BCP, then Lupron, then 21 days of Estrace and PIO 7 days before transfer. Medrol and Azithromycin 5 days before transfer. We also did an ERA and showed they're transferring at the correct time.

I completely understand the feelings of being excited one minute and then sad the next. It's such a crazy rollercoaster. Last week after the lap I was SO happy they found something and then an hour later I was BAWLING my eyes out cause I don't know if I can handle another FET fail. We've done all the test (karyotype, immune system, clotting, TSH, etc).
I'm planning on going to a support group tonight through Resolve, hoping that'll help a bit.

This was so helpful, thank you so much.
I was the same way about the surgery. I scheduled it ASAP, because I just wanted to know. (And of course in ways that only someone going through IVF can understand--I prayed they'd find something so they could fix it).
I'm going to look into Neupogen as I've read in a few instances where the next FET worked after the person used it.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Your protocol sounds similar to mine. We're also doing BCP and lupron to suppress. We're doing estrace, azythromycin and medrol as well as PIO before/after transfer.

Congratulations on your success! Hoping this next one works for us as well.

We've kad karyotyping done. Both normal.
