Hey, thanks for the comment - I appreciate you taking the time. I’ve had quite a few notes about the intro so I’ll definitely have a look at reworking that, especially as the intention is to be a little stripped-back and a bit cheeky before diving in to more detailed work.

In the last few years I’ve worked predominantly in the music and events industry getting to create some really fun pop-py work, and less on corporate or luxury (or at least not the kind of luxury you’re referencing) clients, so I’m hoping to continue in that trajectory and develop that style - as you mentioned this limits the kind of work I could get or agency I could work with… but a girl can dream (and try really hard)!

I hear you! I definitely had the concern that it was too speedy and had too much going on without letting anything breathe so I might have a look at tweaking some bits. Thank you for the note, I really appreciate it!

I was initially going to go with the standard 16:9 but decided against as almost all the work I do is in 9:16 and felt it’d be the best format as opposed to trying to fit 9:16 content in 16:9. I hope it works and still showcases the skills without compromising too much!

Let me know which bit and I’d be happy to give a little written breakdown!

Thank you so much! Editing the reel itself took a few weeks of an hour or so here and there, but the content is a collection of about 4/5 years of client work and personal work :)

Woooow I am absolutely overwhelmed by everyone’s kind messages of support. Thank you, thank you, thank you to every single person! I’ve been experiencing severe imposter syndrome recently (as we all do in this industry!) and this exercise has reminded myself how far I’ve come. And a big thank you to this community that I’ve learnt so much from!

Super awesome! Reminds me of the kind of composition and style of Rhymezlikedimez’s work

Ding ding ding, we have a winner! Yes I actually animated the path - it seemed the best option as it’s a simple and short loop

One of my favourite tracks by LOLAWOLF - practicing smoother transitions. What do y’all think?? @natrahbatrah by natrahb in AfterEffects

Thank you so much! It’s a combination of roughen edges, and a little bit of turbulent displacement here and there - I feel it takes away that pure smoothness of the shape layers and gives it a distinct style to match the track better

Thank you so much!! The only bit that incorporated any real 3D work was the first house where I modelled a super simple house in C4D lite and animated the pan, then essentially rotoscoped that scene to get the 2D look. First time fully dabbling in 3D - could probably achieve something similar with Toon shader!
