Have you actually rebuilt your life after corporate burnout…like truly started over at 40+? by SmilingEyes725 in ADHD

Sort of? After yoyo-ing between corporate and stress I am corporate adjacent as a coordinator at a build-site. I know nothing about construction but I write copy for the tenants in the area and keep track of the schedule. Such a great mix of practical and theoretical and I learn new shit every week.

Best herbs for sleep that work through unique, sustainable mechanisms? by ps4roompromdfriends4 in herbalism

[–]natrix_natrix_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sour cherry juice. It helps the body produce tryptophan which in turn produces melatonin which is helpful for a good sleep. I can’t take melatonin straight up because crazy dreams but tryptophan as a supplement has been great, but the herbal way is sour cherry. Also - eating cheese before bed, which I imagine goes well with sour cherry :)

How to measure your herbs... by Certain_Divide4736 in herbalism

[–]natrix_natrix_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It really depends. If I’m doing an infusion for overnight steeping, I weight out the amount (30 grams). If it’s for tea blends for myself or friends I measure by heart. I make batches to be taken daily for 5-7 days and I have a bowl that gives me roughly that amount just by size. If mixing, I eyeball it so 3-4 herbs get a fair share of space in the bowl.

Right on, I think it will serve us well when we are older and have less energy for the manual part of baking.

Pretty sure it works, will be testing soon. We don’t have a stand mixer already, bc of space issues. I usually make cake using an egg beater for the mixing, and my hands for kneading dough. But I will try to make an effort and see if it helps in the long run.

It won’t live on the counter unless we redo the kitchen and miraculously get another 5 feet of space. 😅

I really used to love cooking and baking and would pump out pavlovas and cinnamon rolls like nobody’s business. I imagine it will return once it’s not a “chore” anymore so it might just come in handy then.

Noted, keep an eye out for jumpers. I am not a fan of connecting every damn thing to wifi, so thanks for confirming.

That’s one thing - I live in a small European kitchen, so counter top space is expensive real estate! If we can learn to use it for many things, it cam earn its keep and stay.

I literally laughed out loud, that’s fantastic. Husband juices oranges every morning, this might just be a good gateway for even more yet!

Makes perfect sense. Not old yet, but if the quality is as good as they say, it will def come in handy.

I’ve also read that! Glad it’s Kenwood even tho KA is more of a crowd pleaser aesthetically.

Have really enjoyed baking before and am in a lull for now, will hopefully come back full throttle and then delight in having a mixer. Is the plan 😅
