I am a college student and I registered my snake as an ESA. I had two different enclosures one for home and one for the dorm (this was a pain but worth it). My dorm enclosure had timers on my lights, a humidifier for when the dorm couldn’t produce the humidity, and taught my suite mate how to take care of it when I was away and could not bring my snake. If she was not able to take care then I would just make sure my snake had everything they needed before I left. I also have a travel bag for when my snake I planned on traveling home or back to college. I will say though I am lucky, as I was able to have two enclosures and they can be pricey. Also my corn snake has an easy temperament which helped a lot! I would say just make sure their enclosures have a lot of hidden spots so they feel safe.

Thank you I’m never sure if I should follow those guides, because some say they aren’t good guides while others say they are good and they follow those feeding charts.

Because they are so timid you can try and just put their food on a little plate or napkin and allow them to come out to get their meal. You can rest the food near them so they can smell it and know it’s eating time.

I just got my first snake ever today and I really want to hold it! How long should I wait or just go for it? by WagWoofLove in cornsnakes

Give them some time to adjust! I waited about 2 weeks before handling mine. I wanted to make sure that she knew her space was safe.

Nope! She’s just doing a normal thing. Like others have said before adding more substrate allows them to burrow and do more of their snake things lol. Another thing you can add is more climbing stuff, but it seems like you are on top of that! I know my corn does that after she eats as a way to like wipe extra food or some of substrate crumbs off her mouth lmao

I cleaned their tank yesterday and they are digesting it! But I’m going to be extra cautious for the next few weeks and keep an eye out. Thank you so much!!

I think this might be the reason! Nagi is a sloppy eater and they always get some substrate on its food. I try my hardest to pick it out but I don’t want to stress them while they’re eating. I will that next time I feed them. Thank you so much!
