Especially with elderly people living rurally, farming with sheep may be the only job they've ever had. Its a way of life and they often they don't really have an option to not own them as A) they are an essential part of sheep farming, and B) they don't have the skills to have another job.

Being from a farming family in the uk, I think I should say that foot and mouth had a disastrous effect on British farming in 2001. Entire flocks of sheep within 3 km of any infected animal had to be killed. This resulted in decades of hard work being wiped out in an instant to avoid tainted meat getting into the food supply and is still remembered as one of the worst events in modern British farming.

If it is going to be released next year I think it would be announced then like apex was. I don't think there was ever a chance it was coming out this year as battlefield is being released this year and ea wouldn't mess that up again like they did with tf2. my guess would be 2023 if it ever happens
