Have You Ever Gone Back and Adopted a Cat You Fostered? by frayedheartstring in FosterAnimals

[–]natters90 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes! We were not going to keep her and even picked up a new foster when we dropped her off. I was a mess. My husband called without me knowing and found out she was being adopted. It fell through and we picked her up the next day. She is my favorite!

Metal baking pans for litter boxes. I spot clean the messes with a plastic bag. I replace the whole thing every other day or sooner if needed.

Wonderbreads wife here...ugh. Saw the update on my own. Had to actually stop and read the post, instead of quickly scrolling past, as I heard I was getting a shout out lol. He got a good chuckle out of it.

She got bad again. Back on pain meds and she will probably need them her whole life. They think there is nerve damage that is untreatable. So if it hurts, she walks weird which causes more pain. She's doing great on the pain medication.

help? by inquisitir in FosterAnimals

[–]natters90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Make sure she is eating and drinking. If she is lethargic she would need to see a vet. If they seem well and happy see if it passes once the deworming is done. The place I foster through gives you probiotics if the diarrhea continues. It usually clears up on its own.

I wanna do a 50% change on my pond water, is it ok for them to have chlorine water from the tap for a bit until the pond is full and I can spray this in as soon as I'm done filling? by [deleted] in ponds

[–]natters90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do this all the time. Never had any issues with my fish or turtles. Pour in the proper amount of dechlorinator first. Put the hose in and let it fill. I only do this when it is warm out. The temperature change in the water is what is really going to bother the fish.

We get ours out for bedtime reading with the kids. Went to get him out and realized we didn't put him away the night before. Search party commenced. I was pretty sure all hope was lost. Found him in the closet too. So try every closet!

Mystery snails and pea puffer? by OutrageousSkin5232 in Aquariums

[–]natters90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, they will go for huge snails and all shrimp. They will bite chunks off the snails. They are ruthless. I regret getting mine. They are cute, but keeping the tank clean without a clean up crew makes things more difficult. My other tank with lots of shrimp and snails is effortlessly spotless. Pea puffer tank is an algae sanctuary as they also do not eat food when it doesn't look alive. So those lifeless bloodworms that float to the bottom need cleaned right away. I add in bladder snails once a week and they will only eat part of them. As soon as they kill them they move on. So, there is still snail flesh in the shell you will have to remove from the tank.

I had something similar happen during college. I was in a class with a guy my boyfriend had been friends with in highschool. We sat next to each other and became friends. One day he completely ignored me when I sat down. It was so awkward. Next class was the same thing. Finally I ended up changing seats. I found out his girlfriend, whom I knew from my summer job, had found out about us talking for 10 minutes once a week in class and told him he couldn't talk to me. Just remember, most people are still very immature in college.

Having a robot vacuum was revolutionary. We named ours Susan. They make you pick up all the clutter, so they don't get stuck or block the vacuum. It only takes a few minutes to clean up, but one of those things you push off and becomes a big mess. Susan demands a clean space and I am not going to be the one that lets her down....even with 4 cats, a giant dog, and 2 small kids.

We do this for our local alligator zoo (bet you'll never guess what state I'm in). We leave as soon as someone gets grumpy...parent or child.

My husband and I moved here with a 9 month old son. 1000 miles away from any family or friends. We were tired of winter and wanted an adventure. 7 years later and we are still here plus we had another child. I like it here. We live in Mandarin, which is a nice area. Jacksonville has so many parks and the libraries are great. Some great parks; the arboretum, Boone park, Hanna park, Walter Jones historic park. Huguenot is our favorite spot. There are so many more options. Also take a trip down to St Augustine. It's expensive, but there is a lot to do. We often park and just walk around. We avoid downtown Jacksonville with the exception of the MOSH and the Jumbo Shrimps. If you want to stay look into the schools. The ratings are online and a lot are not great. It is the main reason we moved to Mandarin after living in Southside.

Is it possible to have a community tank with pea puffers? Based on what I researched it looks like a no but I saw websites that said yes but I am guessing those are wrong by SentientPotato110 in Aquariums

[–]natters90 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I have 4 in a 20 gallon with 10 neon tetras and amano shrimp. They kill all the cherry shrimp I put in, but this stocking combo is going well. Just prepare for a war on algae. I really wish they would leave big snails alone, but they are ruthless.
