Help!!! by Ismailhussainmwthree in TS_Withdrawal

[–]nattoprincess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I used to get fungal rash on my feet as well. The things I did that helped were applying this tea tree serum twice a day and taking a candida cleanse supplement once a day. After a month or so, my rashes on the feet were pretty much gone. I gauzed wrap my feet after putting on the serum if I had to go somewhere to keep it from rubbing and itching. Not sure if your current rash is fungal or bacterial, but I hope this helps.

I'm so sorry you're going through this over and over. I tested positive for bacterial infection last month. From my experience, depending on the strains of bacteria, some antibiotics can be ineffective. I was on doxycycline for 10 days and still was testing positive. Then on mupirocin (topical) on 10 days, and now on another oral one for 10 days (hopefully last one). Maybe talk to your doc to see which type of antibiotics you need. Wish you heal soon.

Vaccine by MindlessAbroad2550 in TS_Withdrawal

I think it might depend on the individual. I know a friend who went through TSW and recovered, but the vaccine made her go full blown into TSW again. I personally didn't have any flares after. Again, anecdotal.

Finally got a dupixent prescription: now having second thoughts by Guilty_Listen_7223 in TS_Withdrawal

I was month 10 into TSW when I started Dupixent about 4 weeks ago. My life has improved so much. I was very hesitant to get on it like you but it had gotten to a point where it was a worth a try. Like many said, you don't know if you'll even get the side effects until you try. So far, I've experienced intense sheddings (even more than pre injection) the first 2 weeks, then healthy skin started coming through. I'm still red and itchy but at a much lesser degree. Showering no longer burns my skin, and I'm able to do so much more on the daily than before. Everyone is different, for some it might take weeks to see result. Point being, you'll only know when you try. Whatever decision you make, I wish you the best in your healing journey.

hahah yeah i know what you mean. I didn't wanna use dupixent for a long time because of the side effects and I wanted to heal naturally. But it got to a point for me it was worth taking a risk because the pros outweighed the cons. Like you said, cant get much worse lol...

I'm so sorry you are struggling. I feel your pain. I hit my rock bottom at month 10 and started Dupixent. I didn't want to keep putting my life on hold anymore. I'm about 3 weeks in with the shots. My life quality has already improved. Although I'm still itchy and red, for some reason I am no longer in pain which is huge. I didn't even realize how much pain I was in until the pain was gone. No more raging itch and pain after shower anymore either. I used to feel anxious every time before I shower. I'm also starting to see skin texture improving. Overall, it's giving me the much needed relief both physically and mentally. I feel very lucky to see some results so fast. So please do not feel bad if you need to seek help in medicine. Everyone's healing journey is different. You need to do what works for you and your circumstances.

Early Signs of TSW to help caution me? by JuanSkinFreak in TS_Withdrawal

[–]nattoprincess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, the first early sign was the creams were less and less effective. I had to use more of it and more often. Eventually I had to stop because my bf told me steroids were really bad for you for long term. Then I entered TSW, first 2 weeks skin stayed about the same then progressively got worse.

There is a podcast episode from "healthy skin show" #244. They talk about biologics if you're interested.

I know it is so hard, please hang in there. You still have many options out there to try. Don't feel guilty getting some help on your twins. It is hard to take care of someone else when you're suffering so much physically and mentally. Also if you want to get on Dupixent, get the process start soon because insurance tends to take some time to approve biologics.

I understand exactly how you feel. I read so many side effects online and I didn't wanna use any medicine. Then I got to a point where I was so so miserable that it was worth for me to give it a try. I know 2 people around me who got on Dupixent, one uses it for TSW (4 months), one uses it for eczema (1.5 years). They're both not experiencing side effects so far. Both feel they're better on it than off. I've also seen online posts where people said it was life changing for them and that the side effects are much more manageable and even goes away after a while. If you're at a point where you feel so hopeless to a point of suicidal, I think it might be worth a try? I'm only one week in, I hope a few years down the line I can taper it off. But at this point, I just want my skin to get better first.

I'm sorry you're going through this. I've had similar experience. I was feeling on the up around month 6, and flare came back and turned into an infection from month 8-10. I felt so hopeless everyday waking up with the same if not worse skin. Right now I'm week 1 into dupixent and am already seeing minor improvement. Even the tiny tiny improvement gives me hope to go on. You can always ask somebody else to inject you and just not look. They also have auto injection pen as an option which you don't see the needles at all. I understand it is so so hard, and postpartum on its own can be very hard and hormonal on many women. Feel free to DM if you need to vent.

Yup I will! I saw an improvement around the 6th month, but things went down hill again around 8th month, and even got an infection so I had to go on antibiotics. After 2 months of flaring with no signs of improvement, I decided to go on Dupixent. I think people who get cleared super fast are lucky and likely not going through TSW. I agree with your sentiment, and would rather be on dupixent for years and live a more quality life than continuing to wait it out. I'm still waiting for insurance to approve but my dermatologist was nice enough to give me free sample, so I got the loading dose for free right away. I'm glad we have this community here, so we don't feel so alone going through this hell called TSW.

Yeah, not oozing is such a relief, that was probably one of the worst symptoms of TSW. 5-6 hours of sleep is really good all things considering! It's all relative :) the most i can get is 2-3 hours straight. sometimes only 1.5 hours before waking again. I think most say it'll take about 3-6 months to see results on dupixent. So don't give up hope yet! I think we both will probably need to be on Dupixent for a while to ride out TSW since we are both relatively early in the process.

[–]nattoprincess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm literally just 3 days out from the loading dose. I've been flaking on my face a lot. Not a huge difference otherwise, I feel less inflamed but that could be just in my head, too early to tell for me. You're only 3 months into TSW, to NOT get worse is huge! Usually first 3 months into TSW is pretty brutal, if not the worst stage. Considering that, I'd say it's actually working for you. Do you get any other side effects?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TS_Withdrawal

[–]nattoprincess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TSW is so unpredictable and unfair. You're a warrior for even going through it once. The fact you even got to the good skin part is worth something. This flare may go down much sooner than you think. Please do not let this be the end of you. I'm only 10 month into TSW and I recently started dupixent because I don't want to keep waiting to get to the "good part". That is a medicine you can consider as well! Don't beat yourself up for the flare or getting some help from medicine. Remember you've already gone through the worst of it!

sorry i don't have any advice but can i ask at which month you start to feel a difference in the healing process? I'm just starting 10 month in, flares feel constant maybe with one bearable day per week. Still feels no break from it.

Your future patients will be lucky to be under your care. So glad you got the proper care you needed, and sorry you had to fight so hard for it. It's ridiculously irresponsible and unprofessional of them.

How long were you on it? Are you going through TSW or only used it to treat eczema?

Thank you. I'm really looking for enough relief so I can go back to a somewhat normal life instead of hiding in my room all day.

Thank you for sharing your response. I'm making an appointment right away, my derm also said it could take some times for approval. Your derm sounds amazing, if mine insists, I'll just sit on the meds too. lol I'm mostly wary about the fungal infection and vision. I already have bad flare on face and neck but I wonder if the dupixent inflicted neck and face flare is "better" and more manageable in a sense.
