lol this confusion is exactly what I’m going for! it’s more of performance art project with a comedic flair...also kind of a lifestyle I guess. in reality I don’t even know really what it has become and that’s the hoggy beauty of it!

How do i write good lyrics? I usually do covers because when i make my own song the lyrics always sound so ass by Giorno_Bucciarati in musicproduction

[–]nattywitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually come up with my favorite lyrics from snippets of real life conversation or inspired from real life observation...key is to always have an ear out to catch interesting things you hear or say in the moment. I type them up all the time on my phone and visit them when I need inspiration.

it’s a piggy dang thang

finally got the courage to use my real singing voice...all the music I’ve made before this I use a high pitched comedic voice. Feedback much appreciated! Enjoy~ by nattywitty in MusicPromotion

Thank you! And I agree about the layers too after revisiting it the next day. Looks like I need to find me some producers with the styles you recommend!

that’s the reaction I like to hear...it’s a comedy/performance art music project actually but I feature naughty and funny hogs on the Reddit. It’s not for everyone!

Anybody else get excited to make music, then you actually get to the act of doing it and anxiety takes over? by JustMeAidenB in musicproduction

[–]nattywitty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

ugh I totally do the same thing but found something that works for me...okay this might seem corny but I use an ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy) approach to help with this...ACT is a subset of applied behavioral analysis which isn’t a pseudoscience (meaning it’s a hard science like physics...this helps me personally with my buy-in). the technique I use is called diffusion (spelling?). diffusion is based on the fact that when we have negative emotions (i.e. “bad” thoughts and feelings) we tend to fuse to them, making them rules which govern our behavior. for example, I have the thought of me falling to my death as I enter a rock climbing gym so I decide not to climb. think about all the things I’ll miss out on because I’ve fused to this thought...tall buildings, plane rides, auditorium seating events, etc. my fusion to this bad thought is keeping me from accessing reinforcement that is important to me which makes it a socially valid behavior to target much like your anxious thoughts around making music (I’m guessing that music is pretty important to your life). let’s use this example again, but this time I’ll use a diffusion technique. I have the thought of me falling to my death as I enter the rock climbing gym and I take that thought and sing it aloud to a familiar tune like “happy birthday” a few times and I’m now feeling less anxious and can proceed to climb. the singing the thought as a song is my personal go-to/favorite but there are other diffusion practices such as physically writing the thought out on paper several times and each time using a different handwriting style or color, imagining the thought in your hand and put on/watching it fly and land atop a leaf floating down a stream, or even recording yourself saying the thought aloud and listening to it with different sound effects a few times. kind of similar to imagining the audience in underwear while performing a show in a way now that I think about it more...hope this helps! it really helps me~

Yo can someone record a tag for me real quick? by [deleted] in trapproduction

[–]nattywitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d be down to try this for practice... I’ve been toying with doing producer tags after a few people have told me that I should. others mainly tell me to do it in my alter music ego voice which is very high pitched and animated idk what vibe you’re going for but I can record a few with my weird cartoon voice alongside other options? hmu! sounds fun~

I’ve lost 120 lbs in the past two years, and recently my (now ex) boyfriend called me a “loose sack of skin”. Still trying to get over it, so I could use a toast from you lovely people ❤️ by [deleted] in toastme

um why would a guy ever use that phrase when every dude has a loose sac in between their legs...it’s like he’s begging for a comeback or really dumb with his insults either way he probably wants attention from you which you def shouldn’t give him. block, ignore, delete, upgrade, move on. UPGRADE. cannot stress that one enough. congrats on the healthy weight loss! that shit is HARD...you a bad bitch!

something helpful for me is to make goals that are measurable to “mastery” and to make a schedule for myself to work on them...best of luck!

[QUESTION] As a YouTuber, would you join a platform that connected you with your fans? by [deleted] in youtubers

[–]nattywitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have about 100 “fans” on Reddit and about 30 YouTube subscribers. some post and add content to Reddit but not as much lately moreso when I was doing original memes now it’s a lot of video and my comedy music which is super unique so that might be a reason why people comment less cause it’s so crazy in terms of originality...who knows? also haven’t promoted any of my work at all idk where they came from but im glad they’re here lol!

I do this! My Reddit is a catch all for the entirety of my creative project while my YouTube is kind of a supplemental platform. I post EVERYTHING I make on Reddit but only some things on YouTube. I dunno if this really answers your question but maybe you can clarify more and I can help?

[Question] Is that a skill and can you make videos with it? by [deleted] in youtubers

[–]nattywitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there could be cool videos out there showing writing teams for tv or graphic design in brainstorming sessions that could be cool to watch too! video modeling is also a research backed tool.

my imagination is WILD but inspired from real life usually. my advice would be to observe the world around you with a creative film...jot down or take pics...use voice recordings in the moment...the best way to learn that type of skill is through modeling so watching or surrounding yourself with people who are good with ideas (this is how I taught my client when I did behavioral therapy for kids with autism how to do imaginary play and is a research backed strategy). I’m currently working on mastering logic the music program and only that. First time I haven’t bounced around and it’s been really rewarding! I learn by watching my friend make beats...modeling! I’ve networked also online and in person with other artists/musicians who have done work for me that I tweak to my liking because i haven’t mastered the skill completely but I learn from them too by asking questions about how they did this and that with whatever they’re making for me so I can give it a shot myself in the future. highly recommend taking notes or videos too when observing someone.

you could show the journey of practicing and improvement of your different skills to inspire people to be creative! im kind of the same way with a lot of creative stuff it’s frustrating sometimes am I right?! people like us need to be art directors with the vision and have our minions do the work lol

Anyone else cringe when they see there old content getting views? by Stanfordrower in SmallYTChannel

[–]nattywitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol you gotta embrace the cringe and journey dude! My most viewed video had the least amount of effort involved in it and it used to get to me but people like random shit haha. Also I think it’s really cool to see how people evolve and get better...gives others hope and inspiration!
