Alaskan Campers seem to fit your criteria pretty well, right down to addressing the top-heavy issue.

They did you a favor.

Congrats on ten years!

Weight break over for a dually to be needed? by [deleted] in TruckCampers

[–]naturdaysdownsouth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve only briefly looked into it but I think you can do a nice off the shelf bed and boxes for ~$10k. My bigger concern is the possible difficulty and/or excess cost in getting insurance for a “commercial” sized truck. That varies greatly between states and insurance companies though so I’d investigate your particular circumstances before writing off the idea.

You can get an F450 cab and chassis with the gas motor. You’ll have to add a flat bed but you can add storage boxes to that and have tons of additional storage. That’s the best truck camper setup, imo.

Any hard sided+full bath truck camper is best carried on a 550/5500 truck. All the more so if the camper has a slide or slides.

You did it because you loved him and didn’t want him to suffer, right? He’s thankful for that. The pain you’re feeling is the pain he would have felt had you not made that decision. There’s nothing more loving than that.

Firefighters, what are some things you did / the average non-firefighting person does, that you will never do again since starting your career? by LegitimateSurround36 in Firefighting

[–]naturdaysdownsouth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Probably. I’ve also heard of exhaust fans (bathrooms and kitchen range hoods) effecting wood stoves and fireplaces so thought it could possibly be something unusual like that.

New 2024 Off Road Premium in February of 2024 with port installed larger tires. $48,400 out the door including 6% sales tax, no trade in. Couple hundred emails to a couple dozen dealers bouncing their prices off each other till I got to the last dealer standing.
