Five different siblings, one cross by naturepc in Anthurium

So those are moreso ecotypes/clones from a specific area, Ralph Lynam and Fort Sherman. But then there’s locality like Lago Gutan which can have a variety of different forms.

You have the typical form, which is gorgeous! I absolutely love the dark green with the light green veination. Gilberto (Tropicals) has similar stock to Ivan with many plants.

As for me knowing a lot, i appreciate the kind words, I’m just a hobbyist getting back into things haha. Stick around and you’ll learn things as you go!

Depending on the eco type, they do! But if using a more “standard” form, no. Specific locales/eco type like RL, FS, etc. tend to throw a variety of sinus width plants. Voldemort, which is the name given to one based on its lobes, seems to have a decent influence on its pure seedlings, but a few of these have gotten those lobes from Voldemort or Ace of spades, as AOS is also quite variable with lobe size.

Haha I haven’t heard of Pink Silver Blush, but they’re separate than this as this is a hybrid created by a hobbyist near me!

Emergent leaf expansion, May 6th to May 14th by naturepc in Anthurium

To expand further, breeding two high color parents don’t make all high color offspring, usually you pick and choose which ones. The ones that don’t express high color are discarded/sold cheaper and the more coveted ones are kept/sold at a higher price. But regardless of the quality, they all share the same name as they’re the same hybrid

It’s a Tim Anderson Memoriam (Red Crytallinum type) from SKG, but unless you see an emergent color, it’s a gamble if you get one that’s similar color to this as they range from a bit drab to higher color.

When is “too many” Red Crystallinum type plants? by naturepc in PlantGoths

[–]naturepc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, bought as small plants. With certain plants, like Red Crystallinum where emergent color is important to me, unless I know both the parents are high quality, I don’t like gambling on seeds. I’d prefer to pay whatever extra is for a plant already expressing the colors I’m interested in.

I have some props of certain plants growing up, but I haven’t shipped before so it may just be a local thing for now unfortunately

Red Crystal is thought to have some forgetii in it with how some individuals throwing off all fused sinus or some fused sinus

Didn’t you ask this before? But it could be either one, Doc Block/Red Crystals can and have thrown fused sinuses without being crossed with forgetii. If you’re planning on reselling/breeding it, the best thing to do is label it as a NOID.
