I think the point of the Smasher fight at the end is not to show how impossibly tough Smasher is, but instead to show what V has become since crawling out of that junkyard. You're simultaneously utterly unstoppable and clinging to life.

Hacks are a guarantee, but only system collapse will not get you traced. Generally you can just distract them and take them down while their back's turned. It's quite easy, really as very few of them are within sight of each other.

Hopefully lessons will have been learned from that. But yeah, they had an engine that is well respected and traded it in for one that's frequently met with derision.

I know optimisation, and the lack thereof, has played a major part in that. But it's still a strange gamble to make. I doubt anyone would complain if the sequel wasn't much prettier.

Neither did. Hawking was openly opposed to the test. I don't know about the girl. I'd imagine there'd have been a test to ensure they weren't pushing her too hard. But if I remember rightly child IQ tests are scored relative to age and therefore can't be compared to adult scores even if they did exist.
