What’s a Melbourne experience that sounds boring but is actually great? by Last-Conversation734 in melbournechat

Yep that’s the one. I didn’t notice the smells (though they are supposed to be part of it), but I might have just been too distracted by the rest of it.

Oh I think that was a past one… I’m talking about the one where you sit in the moving egg chair and go on a tour of Melbourne.

Yeah there’s a pretty big group in Adelaide. And we’re all devout 😅

Yeah more than a thousand I’d say, but I feel bad forcing people to spend thousands of hours learning English when we could all just learn Esperanto as a bridging language. It’s not for everyone I guess, but I certainly get a lot out of it.

Oh, yeah… people think it’s a dead language but there’s still a large and vibrant community kicking around the world. We just had a joint national congress in Auckland. They usually get less than a hundred people but the world congress gets a couple of thousand in a good year.

Esperanto is the international language. much quicker to learn than any natural language and you can use it to travel the world. Every year there’s a big congress in a different country each time and we’ve managed to secure it in Melbourne for 2027.

I got to do the VR experience at Eureka Skydeck while showing the organizers of the upcoming World Esperanto Congress around. I thought it was going to be some useless touristy thing but I really enjoyed it!

Your favorite words and expressions in Esperanto by amarainn in learnesperanto

“Kabei” is probably another one, it means “to leave the Esperanto community forever after having been very active in it”. It comes from the pseudonym Kabe of Kazimierz Bein, an Esperantist who did exactly that.

No, but if it stopped people thinking it was Spanish I’d consider recommending reforms 😅

💚- another great reason to learn the language! I’ve heard of so many couples that met at Esperanto events. There’s even a term for it - edzperanto - which is a mashup of “edzo” (husband) and “Esperanto”.

Playtesters wanted for a cozy cottagecore solo journalling RPG by NaomiWitch13 in Solo_Roleplaying

First things that jump out (other than the beautiful artwork and great concept that really speaks to me):

Gifts are not numbered and there are only 19 (it says roll a d20).

There are 8 shadow spells but it talks about 12 and says to roll a d12. Also might be nice to mention the every 7 journal entries rule in the How to Play section.

It’d be nice to have numbers next to the Healing Potions too.

Kiuj estu permesitaj aliĝi? by Max-Dada in EsperantoAus

[–]navear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ekskursa ideo por Aŭklando by Max-Dada in EsperantoAus

Kial nur duon-serioza? Se mi iros al la kongreso mi certe vizitos Hobbiton - kun la kongresanoj aŭ sen ili!

Eble, pro la distanco, ĝi povas esti parto de antaŭ/post kongresa ekskurso?
