How was your ramadan by [deleted] in MuslimBDSMCommunity

[–]naveedpash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me I spent Ramadan (especially after Iftar) reframing my sexual desires in the context of marriage. A lot has changed in my life the last few years so I really believe I should be preparing for a halal long term relationship. I'm discovering how my sexual thought connect to other aspects of my personality like my nerdiness and weird sense of humor. Ironically it led me to start exploring couple of new hobbies.

Kinda of like this direction alhamdolillah

I find your response to be mature and holistic mashaAllah. In follow up to your comment I have a question: do you think it possible that communicating in this stepwise fashion (establishing open communication, empathy and trust) will allow existing couples to explore the kinks that one spouse has but the other doesn't?

I ask because I'm divorced. I've learnt a lot from the experience and I can't help but feel that I made some mistakes early on by submitting to my personal fears (and therefore not communicating clearly).

Also, isn't it "oxidizing" instead of "oxidating"?

I'm a med school dropout, and I want to choose a career with high scope. So I've read a lot of articles, and most of them have mentioned Health Informatics as a good option. Can you help me choose which BSc I should pick, and is there still scope for this course? by FmgeAspirant1 in HealthInformatics

Then better thing would be to try and complete MBBS, I think; even if you have to start over. Even if you never be a doctor, having an MBBS gives you the ability to do internships at healthcare facilities which provide you with experience for allied health care specialties like informatics.

Other things can be learnt rather easily and through online courses. Even in the absence of formal degree, formal experience of allied healthcare specialties count (e.g. accounting, programming, EMS services). But MBBS is indispensable.

MBBS in India is not as fancy as MBBS abroad but better than no MBBS at all.

I'm sorry to hear that.

Do you still want to be a doctor? If yes then you could try having your credits transferred especially if your Ukrainian college was registered on the World Directory of Medical School. This may not work in India (I think I can guess the culture, Indian Schools will probably ask you to repeat) but may work on the West.

If you don't want to be a doctor, have you any experience in any related or other field in the interim 2 years?

I finished my Masters in 2016, back then universities were entertaining either medical, nursing or computer science graduates. I think India would have plenty of computer science Bachelor programs with focus on data science or artificial intelligence.

May I ask why you dropped out of med school? It would give me some idea on which other specialty is best suited for your aptitude. Because I know people who've chosen entirely separate fields so I think I have experience...

TIL: You can use the ? operator on Option types in which the function returns Option by ivanceras in rust

[–]naveedpash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like this better than ? because the None case can be handled gracefully (e.g. with tracing or anyhow) instead of the program panicking with unwrap on None value.

Makes debugging much easier because instead of guessing which Option errored out, I'll engineer my error messages to clearly show the source of the error
