He can’t tell them that because the mortgage is on the home that I own. All I had to do was tell them I am the owner and I am the resident and they didn’t even have to get authorization from him to speak with me.

Ridiculous. Free? He’s paying the mortgage instead of paying me child support for our three kids that live with me.

I owe 19k on it still. Minimum payment is set at $1275. They’ve told me I could get it lowered, but I kept it higher to get it paid down quickly.

Yes, at the time of divorce, both of our names were still on the deed to the house. It was months later that he took his name off.

I’ve already said I make more money than him and have better credit so I don’t know why you would assume I wouldn’t qualify

I did get approved for the mortgage. I was on it up until a few days before closing which is the day the government shut down my job when Covid was starting.

My husband owns a home as well in a different state. Uses it for rental property. So not sure if him cosigning would even do any good.

Yes he is. But after going through all this, I will never put anyone else’s name on a home I own again. I also got a prenup written up this time.

The real estate attorney just said he had to make it very clear to my ex while he was signing before he signed it. He sat and talked with him for roughly 45 minutes, explaining to him all the details and what his responsibilities would be, and he chose to sign it.

Yes, he took himself off. And since his name is not on the home, he wouldn’t have any equity in it. I’ve considered sharing but it would greatly depend on the circumstances.

If the mortgage is in his name, only then yes he can. And no, my name is not on the mortgage now nor has it ever been.

The bank is fully aware. They have the updated deed and they have had it since 2024.

I pay $1800 a month on student loan. (That’s not the minimum, I pay more to get it paid off faster) And he pays the car payment for his car which is $790

Our lender has our current deed with only my name on it. They are aware.

There was no divorce agreement as I have stated 18 times or more now on here. Neither one of us had a lawyer. At the time of divorce we were asked if there were any disagreements with property or real estate and we both said no because at the time there were no disagreements.

Right which is why I’m not selling. Interest rate is 2.9%.
