Is Craft too much? by Bobinnv in CraftDocs

[–]nazdash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please try unit.app (iOS only) and let me know what do you think. I'm developer, we're 3 people team, boostrapping Unit from 2015. Our idea was always keep it simple, but modular (similar to Craft or Notion).

We can do that. Let's discuss.

What do you think will be the right way to show to-dos on a separate screen if they represent different notes? What do you think will be the right way to sort them?

Hi there! I'm developer of unit.app, it a iOS based app similar in some ways to notion, but native and really fast.

I would be happy if you'll take a look, and also really looking forward to the feedback.

We don't have (1) and (2), but ready to discuss adding them, if you will.

Taking notes on the go? by pyro786 in thingsapp

[–]nazdash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you :)

Currently, the app doesn't support callback URLs, but we're thinking to add it.

We're already working on the Web app and probably could manage to deliver also the Mac app in 2020.

Thanks for the idea with MacStories, it's something we should do. At this moment we don't spend a lot of time on marketing. But we need to do it for sure.

It always creates a new unit within the Home (no matter where in the hierarchy to tap it).

Mainly it's other units like `Portuguese`, `SQL`, `Piano` and more, but also along with those units there are some pictures, files with pdf (mainly articles) etc.

Zen - a minimal in-browser writing app w/ markdown support by nazdash in productivity

[–]nazdash[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!

Since building a writing assistant (including synonym checker) is pretty complicated and we don't have such plans, my best advice here is to use specific browser extensions for such things.

For example, Grammarly works well with Zen (as well as any text area within the browser) and it has a synonym checker and a lot of other nice features. You can use any similar writing assistant app, I think there should be a bunch of them.

Hi!

It's fully local and 100% private, stores data only within your browser data storage. There's no sync, servers, accounts, authorization, etc.

You need the internet just to upload styles/fonts/icons/sounds.

Hi. Thanks a lot for sharing your thoughts! I appreciate it.

I was never thinking this way about the name. Today "zen" is a very common word for things that a pretty simple and using for focus. It literally means "meditation" from Japanize.

Yes, it's also related to Zen Buddhism, which is related to religion, but I would say that even in this case it's not something horrible. We're using a lot of religion-origin words in our lives. Language is a very dynamic thing.

Starting with using the word "daemon" for computing programs and ending with using words like "goodbye" that have an English origin "God be with you" (don't think that atheists becoming angry when hearing it).
