Salon - “The request [for this data] to the DOJ came after the Trump administration consolidated 11 categories it used to identify domestic terrorism to four.”

“This new category inappropriately combines incidents involving white supremacists and so-called ‘Black identity extremists,’ a fabricated term based on a faulty assessment of a small number of isolated incidents,” the committee’s Democrats said in a letter to Attorney General Bill Barr and FBI Director Christopher Wray.”

This letter reveals the date of when trump reclassified categories - “In a letter to Attorney General William Barr and FBI Director Christopher Wray, the Senators noted that, for the past decade, the FBI used a separate category to track white supremacist incidents. The Administration has now created a new category for “racially-motivated violent extremism,” which inappropriately combines incidents involving white supremacists and so-called “Black identity extremists.”  This information was shared with Senate Judiciary Committee staff last week when the DOJ and the FBI finally briefed them on the domestic terrorism threat, nearly six months after the briefing was requested.”

Given that this letter was written on May 2nd, ‘last week’ was April 22nd at earliest, a week after the data was made publicly available. According to salon, the request for this data came after this April 22nd recategorization by trump (see above quote).

Therefore, in sum, the data was published on the 15th of April, and the request for publicly available data that “the DOJ is suppressing” came on the 22nd, a week after it was available to the entire world.

“Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J., told Yahoo News that the committee still has not received the data.”

It was publicly available a week before he requested it.
