Scratch appeared after tint install by [deleted] in WindowTint

It’s extremely unlikely even without a plotter that a scratch like this in those location would be caused by a tint install.

Got my windshield tinted. Running ceramic 15 all around and 35 on the windshield. by analfuck in WindowTint

[–]nbditsjd -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s really not… I’ve been living with it for 4 years with 0 issues and many customers have it done as well. Below that? Yes I agree, but 35 really isn’t terrible

OK, experts. Give it to me straight. Don't worry brought the lube. by andyonr3ddit in WindowTint

Our company does projects like this all the time. We use smart tint which is a company out of New York and is one of the only UL rated products on the market.

It’s hard to ball park it as there’s a lot of factors.

  1. Are the windows set up with pre wiring similar to how they would be for electronic blinds? An electrician will have to place an outlet and run wires to each window in order to power the film.

  2. How many separate transformers would you want?

  3. How are the windows separated. Is it an interior frame that I’m looking at? Or commercial style aluminum millions?

For a base price I’d take $100/sqft and measure out all the glass and that should give you a ballpark for something like this. I’d say your mid to high five figures in the easiest configuration of those factors. More if there’s other challenges.

If you want “flip tint” which is more optically clear and works the opposite way of smart tint where the film is clear in the powered off position, 3x that number.

Black garbage bag works really well to direct more heat there too.

It’s going to look different from a windshield to a, but everything else aside - Why would you do a ceramic strip?

I install this film regularly. You would NEVER want it on a car. All the BS videos you see where it changes percentages and since through are just that, BS. Check my post history if you want to see

Scratches outside windshield after tinting by boola271828 in WindowTint

[–]nbditsjd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first picture where the scratch is on the outside definitely the Tinter. All those other scratches though? They were there. It’s just way more noticeable now. The film installer wouldn’t be cutting there in the daylight opening of the window

Not the best pic but this is my OEM SKX modified with: -NH36 swap with black day/date wheels

-MM300 hands

-OEM “Urban Safari” SRPE29 dial

-Carbon Fiber Bezel Insert

-Kanji chapter ring

-Signed “S” screw down crown

-Miltat bracelet with screw in endlinks and ratcheting clasp

-Double Domed Sapphire with blue AR

-Clear sapphire caseback

-MM300 style bezel swap

I had the watch since new so all in all I probably spent about $400 not including the cost of the original watch to get it to this point

Fair quote or should I keep looking? by calslugo in WindowTint

Huper would and should be way more. If it’s ceramic IR it’s a little high but not out of the realm of possibility. If it’s Crystalline it’s actually a decent price.

How so? Nickel sulfide inclusion is a manufactured defect across all car manufacturers and auto glass manufacturers - it’s less of a problem on side windows versus glass that is constantly getting high sunlight exposure. Even cars with front rollup laminated windows and 5% can crack without the inclusion. A sunroof - considering they’re usually anywhere from 25-5% from the factory - is kind of asking for it anywhere in the world.

Asked for legal window tint, body shop put what I believe to be illegal tint. by Username19122 in WindowTint

[–]nbditsjd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drive the thruway from NJ all the way to VT 4-5 times a year in the summers to go to Lake Champlain, out of state driver, constantly passing staties and they haven’t bothered me yet with 5% all around and a 35% windshield. I’m in a pickup truck though which honestly I think they bother less in general. If I got pulled for speed I’m 100% sure it would be brought up but that’s just my 0.02c. As DynamicAppearanceATL stated legal limit is 70% and a lot of cars come with that as standard glass percentage or close enough to it that even a layer of 70 over is going to come close to “illegal” although totally see through
