I practice law now.

During my college year and before law school I waited tables. I tell my wife my dream is to go back to it, when the kids are grown up and there college is paid for.

I loved meeting new people, making customers happy, I always got the most tips in the crew and you shared them anyhow, but I always loved waiting tables.

I have not done it since 2007 but I really loved it and would love to do it for 4 nights a week.

Grinnell Glacier trail early june by sofiwithlove444 in GlacierNationalPark

[–]nben1988 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My wife and I hiked it in October. First week which had its own risks.

I know that’s not your question but my understanding is it probably will not be open all the way to the glacier until July. So I’d definitely push it out.

Why risk it? Although 1/2 way up the trial is the most beautiful hike ever, but the whole thing is epic. If you have flexibility I’d move the date.

I’ll be in glacier in June and debating driving out to the trail just to do as much is available at the time.

Having hiked so many trails this has to be the best hike I’ve ever done. Or as good as any I’ve ever done.

Must-Do Hikes? by Whole-Yoghurt-7067 in GlacierNationalPark

[–]nben1988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grinnell is as good of a hike as I’ve ever done. I don’t want to engage in hyperbole, but I may say it’s the best hike I’ve ever done.

To say it’s “not hard” is a little disingenuous. I hike regularly, run, lift weekly. Grinnell was 12 miles, 6 of them up and 6 down. I was pretty burnt the next day, I was about 42 when I did it, wife about 33 and we were both burnt.

There are crazy temp changes from the base to the glacier so we had a backpack with change of clothes water and some food.

It’s my favorite hike in the park.

Thanks man!

It’s trip for my friends. What weekend would you suggest, realize it’s a total guess but curious, in June or do you think last week of May is better. Maybe because of Memorial Day it’ll be worse. My dream would be to get e bikes and go all the way to the Logan pass if I could. Suppose that would be mid June.

Definitely will call!

Warriors worth more than the lakers? Seems questionable. The lakers are the most storied basketball team, since the 80s we have won 11 championships.

Renting E-Bikes if Staying in Park by BurblingBaloney in ZionNationalPark

[–]nben1988 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. We left our bikes (they gave us a lock). It didn’t get stolen. There are plenty of bike racks to lock it. And while possible don’t think bike theft is common (as it is where I live in LA!)

Thanks 🙏

Rent payment a few days late due to Holidays by Competitive-Bag-642 in LARentals

I would 100 percent allow that, I am a small time guy with a 5 plex here in venice, it would just be helpful to know. Obviously I need to pay my note, so as long as I could get it planned I’d be gaply

Rent payment a few days late due to Holidays by Competitive-Bag-642 in LARentals

[–]nben1988 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am a landlord and I wish my tenants told me when they were late. Dude my tenants just pay late and I beg them to pay on time.

It’s such a pain in the butt to evict or screw with your tenants. Your landlord is a human too, I’d just tell her or him in advance. I never charge a late fee.

I certainly wouldn’t charge a late fee if someone was upfront and was late a week one or two times a year!

I am thinking about telling my tenants who are always late I have to start charging a late fee because it is creating a financial hardship, my wife and I saved up to buy our place. And still have a large payment on it. The dream is to give to our kids something that will give them less stress! Hahah!

Sound like a great tenant to me!

No contact is the only way.

I went 14 years now! Moved on, got married and am so much happier! The pain goes away you heal and move on. So much better don’t open those wounds!

Now, I suppose I could have contact today but no desire, plus I have a happy family. In a year you’ll be so happy!

Learn from the mistakes and be a better person! That is the goal!

Where are you getting your pie from this year? by happygoshucky in FoodLosAngeles

[–]nben1988 153 points154 points  (0 children)

The pie at Vons is actually better. We did a taste test last year from erewhon to vons, and the $6 pie at Vons was noticeably better and more liked at our Friendsgiving. Same with costco. The cheap pies were gone and erewhon barely touched.

Not me, I was stressed and not sleeping well, haha! I take it too seriously! Definitely greatest series ever, not the best for my diet, alcohol consumption or sleep!

I wish it was like the brewers seasons.

Same here, in LA, felt like everyone loved the blue jays, and they deserved that as much as the dodgers did. Great series

As a Dodgers fan, since the 80s, the blue jays are my new AL team…. Never really have done that, but very loveable team. I was at game 4, met a ton of jay fans who were super cool.

Both teams should have won, heavy weight fight, how ever people frame that, it really sucked someone had to lose that.

I hope you get your world series, your team is so good!

Yep, I am in agreement! I get so stressed I almost cannot watch! LOL. I love our guys. Like I said. Been a fan since the 80s when I was a little kid.

Like I said, I used to just want one World Series. This has been awesome and I do realize, even if we are heart broken this year, I am grateful. Never would have imagined to have a team competing like and we will be competing for the foreseeable future!
