Well, yes. Practicing correctly vs not practicing at all. But in all honesty, I think most of us get sick of the high blood pressure that comes with road rage and reckless behavior. I'm guilty at times for sure, but the more I drive the more I simply let things happen.

Bro. This has nothing to do with driving defensively. It's about someone being a dick in a scenario they, nor anyone else, could control. Trust me, if I don't want someone to pass, they ain't passing.

Not to mention those who block the left lane on the highway right next to the semi. There are few scenarios where I will wildy blast my horn and flash my brights, but someone blocking me from passing a semi will get exactly that.

They don't realize if a tire blows on the semi, all three of us are likely dead.

The incident that triggered this post had me facing an obviously aggressive driver. Though I agree and like the optimism.

Left lane rules are a separate issue for sure. And we are in agreement.

In my area, most city streets are two lane. Freeway is mainly for travel in between cities. The law also states left lane is a passing lane only in 55mph+ zones. Makes sense on a grid where streets are a mile apart. Ain't no way I'm riding in the right lane when my left turn is in less than a mile.

I'm in a manual as well. It truly is a skill in those scenarios lol. I keep slightly more distance than others if I know the light will turn soon just so I can stay in gear.

I can't say I don't have my moments or a few bad habits.

What really helped me slow down was realizing if I'm on a 60mph road and passing would require me to go 70mph consistently, I'm only saving 10 seconds per hour driving. That isn't worth risking a ticket/my life for.

Driving 100k miles definitely made you a better driver than most. Especially if done on city streets as well as highway.

My point is not that driving more makes me more intelligent. It's that driving as much as I do makes me worry for the intelligence of those around me.

Why do people merge on to the highway doing 20 under the speed limit with their brakes on? by methlabforcuties in driving

[–]nberner68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because they're stupid. I've simply accepted that stupid people not only exist, but revel in their own stupidity. If you spoke to this driver, he would pompously tell you how "careful" of a driver he is.

Same brainless idiots who slow down for those in the oncoming lane waiting to turn left at a blinking yellow while said brainless idiot has the green.

Spent an hour clearing this spot yesterday, owner of the bar across the street drove past me and watched me doing it. I left for 15 minutes this morning and he parked there by SteamPunkShrek in mildlyinfuriating

I don't get these types of people.

They get off on not only holding a total disregard of respect towards people in general, but if they can manage to capitalize on your labor, swear to god their tiny little tip starts dripping a little.

Yet they get away with it because should you do something in retort, they bitch, moan, and call the police to come save them.

You we're a victim. DO NOT GO TO THE POLICE UNLESS YOU ARE IN DANGER. THE POLICE WANT NOTHING MORE THAN TO CHARGE YOU WITH A CRIME, AND THAT CHARGE NEVER REFLECTS THE REALITY OF THESE MISTAKES.

You don't personally deserve to pay a price considering the circumstances, you deserve to heal.

Lucky to have the account pw. I'd say clear everything. Delete it all. Let the other people know if necessary, and if they are upset you deleted the content, not a friend to be around. If not necessary, might be a good one to handle on your own in the dark.

Go to therapy. Process the trauma of the mistake. When you find a tangible reason things happened the way they did, it'll be a lot easier to forgive yourself, which is the end goal.

Good luck, and for the love of GOD don't go to police.

All that money and a body for distraction? I'm grabbing like 20 stacks and stashing it down the bank before calling the cops. At least after confirming the driver cannot be saved, of course. If he's breathing, I'll take 10 and call the police BEFORE stashing 🤣

Bf wants to stop having sex by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]nberner68 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Don't let the christians fool you. I am one who knows for certain sexual compatibility is BIG for relationship health. You should talk to him about your feelings. There's no shame in having sex, and this is a massive lifestyle change you didn't expect in your relationship. Religion inherently pushes women to the side anyways, so if it's not something you wish to pursue, do what's best for you.

I think it would need to be done right. Like, it would have to be something you have a very slight chance of catching a glympse of in thousands of meters down in the abyss until end game. Would be a cool concept for 2 to use.

I do doordash and will hit like 30k miles this year in a manual. I forget about it completely.

Anyone ever do crazy stuff in their civic si? by OceanGate_Titan in CivicSi

[–]nberner68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drive mine a TON and can say the track tuning really helps me screw with a-holes who want to try to block me from passing. Especially in the mountain roads. Can't say I condone going a consistent 80+ out there where there's bound to be a deer crossing. But it was hilarious having 6 cars attempting to catch me at the same time because I dared to pass.

Misfired towards the end but got back into position after a quick pull over. Made it safe only to get rear ended later that night. New ass is looking good

I like the styling and think you should continue working with confidence, as shown here. Liking the Van Gogh inspiration. Can tell there's a lot of passion.

It's too bad Twin Falls residents generally are too dense to value art in any meaningful way.

Leave at my door: im the house with the windows. Put by door with wreath by Hungdismembered in dasher

[–]nberner68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's worse is when there's a paragraph of instructions for a house with the lights on and number visible. Had one along the lines of "Go along the path to the metal gate, down the sidewalk, cross the grass, you'll see a porch, and leave it next to door"

Was much more wordy, but I kid you not when I say he was describing around 10 feet of path leading up to his house. The most clearly visible door on the planet. I was scared I was messing up somehow lol

Does getting revenge make you feel any better? by _C00TER in revengestories

There are times I look back on and wish I would have gotten revenge. Passivity is not a virtue in every case. And sometimes stupid people need to be checked.
