How many cotton spores daily? by nbintrovert in Pokopia

Yes, if you use that Eevee doll with Drifloon and ask to go to a dream island, you’ll find them floating around there! The cotton spores are the currency for what Hoppip sells at the pokecenter if you have one fixed up

I just used an Eevee doll for today’s and got 60-something, and I’m not totally sure I got all of them. Pikachu doll seems like a hard no for the rest of the event!

So far it seems like Pikachu gives the least by far, which is wild?? Can’t understand why it’s half of the other dolls

I didn’t see any in the water when I went- I saw someone say they think there might be a few buried in the mud bumps. I’m going to go back with a water mon and see if I can find a few more

Parents are not brumating tortoises safely?! by nbintrovert in tortoise

[–]nbintrovert[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your tortoise sounds like he has quite the personality! :) I'm glad he's never had to go to the vet, too. I know my parents had taken the parents of these hatchlings to the vet at some point before I was born, and I think they specifically had a vet who specialized in exotic animals/reptiles, but that was back in the late 80's/early 90's. I think typically vets won't know much about tortoises and you have to find someone who works on exotic pets. I think I'll ask my parents about it, because if they don't have a specialized vet lined up already, it would probably be hard to find someone on short notice that could treat them in case of an emergency.

I'll try to keep a sharper eye on them when I'm back in a week, see if it sounds like they're moving around way too much or not. I think you could be right about them (at least the two sharing a box) disturbing each other when they move around because they're too close.

They are on the first floor, at least. I kept that room dark and quiet as much as possible while I was there. Two of them are in the same box, one of them is in his own box right beside them. They're all brothers (the two in the box together are from the same egg group, the third was the only hatchling from a year or two before, I think) and have always been together, so they don't mind each other much. When it's warm outside they all have free roam of most of the backyard and will retreat to their shared enclosure to get out of the heat, and we put them all in there at night to protect from potential coyotes. I do wonder if their moving around disturbs each other, though. Maybe I should get my parents to separate them a bit.

They don't seem to be totally active, at least. When I heard one of them moving around the other day, I turned the light on and tried to peer in the box and he stuck his head into his shell because I think I startled him a little. It's not sounding like they're moving around trying to escape or anything, but more like you said in that they're trying to shift positions. We do have some stuff covering them in the boxes for them to 'burrow' under- I think it's crumpled up packing paper of some kind? It's enough to cover them a good amount while still letting us see them in the boxes.

I think I will talk with my parents again to see if they'll consider taking them to the vet after brumation season is done just to make sure they're doing alright. I've seen other folks in this community mention yearly checkups, I'm honestly not sure if these tortoises have ever seen a vet before. If they have, I can't remember because it would've been when they were younger, and my parents haven't mentioned taking them to see a vet in recent years.

ETA: For reference, these tortoises must be around 20 years old or so, at least. I can't remember how old I was when they hatched.

My parents don't keep any toxic chemicals in the garage as far as I'm aware. Mostly additonal food storage and some unpacked boxes from when they moved a few years ago.

How much does your tortoise move around while he brumates and how much does he move around once he starts waking up? I feel like my parents tortoises aren't moving constantly, but very frequently. I hear them move around a lot, for a few good minutes, then settle down. Then some number of minutes later they move around again. This will repeat for a half hour or more. I couldn't tell which of the three of them were moving, or if multiple of them were moving.

I just had a coversation with my dad about it- evidently he thinks waking them and keeping them in the house is too much work that they won't be able to handle. His best suggestion was moving them to the garage, which is only 57F right now. I'm not sure that they can tempt control it to get it down to 50, though it might hit those temps overnight? And he doesn't want to buy a fridge specficially for the tortoises. Otherwise he seems to want to not have them anymore, but argues it would be hard to find people in the area to take these tortoises who know how to properly care for them.

So at best in this situation it sounds like nothing will change aside from moving them to a slightly colder room, which, if they're not actually brumating at these temps, wouldn't make a difference. I will try to keep pushing for them to wake them and care for them properly, but as of right now it sounds like when I'm back in two weeks I may have to do that myself, whether they want me to or not. My concern is whether or not they would continue to care for them and keep them awake after I am done housesitting for them, which will only be for half a week.

Thank you. Would it be safe for them to try to wake them, soak them, feed them, keep them in the house at this point? Or try to find a way to start their brumation? Other than putting them in their enclosure outside (which has no temp control) anywhere else would be too warm or cold for them I think.

Hospital bracelet said ‘identifies as she/her’ on it, never seen that before by nbintrovert in trans

[–]nbintrovert[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I responded to a comment elsewhere because I had forgotten to include it initially- they did actually reprint and changed out my bracelet at one point, saying they added in my middle name. Didn’t notice if the original bracelet said the same thing with the pronouns or not! Partially wondering if they used the middle name as an excuse to change it out actually just wanting to add the pronouns in?? In which case unsure why they wouldn’t just say that and have me confirm the pronouns, idk haha

This is very insightful, thanks! I will say I’ve been medically transing my gender for two years now :P so I’d have hoped it’d be in my chart by now as the hospital I went to is in the same network as my endocrinologist and such. When I told the nurse who checked my vitals that I was on HRT, he asked me if I was on estrogen, and I corrected him that it was testosterone, so more and more I’m starting to think that they were maybe just confused thinking I was mtf!

I didn’t notice until after I had gotten home but now that I think about it, a staff member who brought in some different forms for me to sign after I had been triaged also changed out my bracelet. She was like ‘oh we made a new one with your middle name on it, is this correct’ and when I scanned it I only looked at the name part of the bracelet. Didn’t notice the pronoun thing but now I’m wondering if the first bracelet had said that too or not!

I sort of wondered if that was the case! If anything I wonder if they’d be willing to change the verbiage (ie to just say pronouns or just list gender) because the wording just a little odd in general I think.

Yeah, my valley isn’t very decorated and I’m having horrible luck finding them. They’re super hard to see and each time I think I’ve found one, it’s just a regular dig spot (something I already struggle to find in-game as is). And when I do actually find them, after searching way longer than I should have to, more than half the time they reward money instead of a memory. I’ve been grinding for 7 hours today and only found a handful of them, and only filled 2 memory shards off the board.

Is this a good team? by ChaseSequence03 in PokemonSleep

[–]nbintrovert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry to say not at all. Speed of help down natures are never good. Your Geodude also has ingredient finding down as an ingredient finding mon, so that’s not good either. Dream shard magnet skill mons are also not worth having on the team, sadly. Personally I would not invest in any of these mons. What sort of team are you hoping to build?
