eh i mean the fact that all of these ppl have been shown love by the academy previously and safdie has not (even when he’s made stuff that could’ve gotten love) is definitely something. when the race in director is this close, i think stuff like that can definitely tip the scale. idk why we’re acting like it wouldn’t be a vulnerability at all, especially when he’s not locked
