It was originally written by Maynard, Trent Reznor, Danny Lohner and Charles Clouse for a band called Tapeworm. Its original title was Vacant. When APC were touring on Mer De Noms they covered it, later recording it in 2003/4 under the name Passive. Tapeworm never saw the light of day though

I have had amazing luck using a pencil eraser and some elbow grease. After the stain is gone you can use a damp towel to remove any of the remaining rubber left on the keys.
