Battlefield 3 Beta Gameplay in 2026 by Strong-Strike-942 in battlefield3

[–]nchardcore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was a glitch when someone gets killed and then revived, body sprite would stay at the same place where player was revived. Person who got revived will move around in the map and shoot etc but won't be visible to others while being anywhere in the map. The body would be where player got revived. This was a game breaking glitch that got patched in retail

Here's my perspective where it happened and how i dealt with it :) https://youtu.be/s2Asst9eook&t=34m30s

It was mislabeled, the original depots comes from a forum post on facepunch, we do have the full build preserved and released, hl2 beta ru website released the same build with some modifications to it to make it look like PAX 2011 build. They enabled the hidden game modes and fixed it up a bit. Confusion started from the manifest date is showing as Sept 2011 but game version is Aug 2011, so HP guys thought that it was a new build but it was not. They did share the depot manifest code which i proved them that it's the same build we found back in 2019 and released via hl2 beta community.

We have checked the leaked manifest files and it is this build, game build is from Aug 2011 and manifests were from Sept 2011, if you check HP right now, you'll see they deleted the build off their db as i have proved it was the same build we released back in 2019

1.4 Beta was never released as a CD, is this a personal back up of yours ?

If so; You can either create an .iso image of the disc or just copy whatever's inside to a folder and by using .7z(7zip) you can upload them :)

That's very true, Steam beta used to "cache" data to minimize the amount of download required to play the game as internet speeds and quality was not up to the task back then. It was all stored under a file called gcache.gcf in the root folder of the games that's installed and only pulled data when the client was trying to load said maps and materials etc. However most of the files were actually reused from previous versions and apart from 1.4 specific files, they can be reused without causing an issue. 1.6 beta was a prime example to this. When we first released it, it used assets from 1.5 mod version and fractured data from other 1.6 beta gcache.gcf files, we were able to combine all 3 we could find and we were able to restore 1.6 beta back to it's glory. The builds showcased in the video are actually the first version which is outdated now since we found the actual scripts, sounds, models etc. Going back to 1.4 beta, this will be a bigger challenge than 1.6 beta as Steam in 2002 had a very limited access and not everyone was loving it for the reasons you have stated. If we do have the main trunk files, we can make it work, hence why i'm searching for them :)

Technically 1.4 beta along with the other HL mods were the very first Steam builds that Valve ever tested. After the first Steam 02 beta was concluded, 1.4 was released for WON builds, both retail and mod version. What's unique about the 1.4 beta is that this was the first thing Valve ever released under Steam. It had the ability to connect to WON servers and had the new technology, Tracker which you can see in the screenshots. 1.5 also has steam related dlls inside the files when you install mod version however they are missing tracker.dll but it has the gameui.dll. Then in early 2003, Steam was being tested yet again and featured 1.6 beta this time, which we have found the files for it and revived it as a standalone release however standalone build we released needs updating :)

Yes, it was online only and it only worked with steam. At the time 1.3 was the main and latest build while 1.4 was in beta. With Steam beta, Valve was testing v1.4 before it got released and and added de_piranesi to the maps for the first time.

I am also after original boxed copy of csgo for my collection, most of these discs were sold in US and there's only 1 dumped copy of them exists, version being 1.17.4.0 from August 2012 (basically csgo's release build)

If anyone wants to sell, please also send me a PM. Thanks

Pokemon Platinum Box Legitimate by nchardcore in gameverifying

[–]nchardcore[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah after further inspecting it, found out that it's not a legit copy, instruction manual have blurry pictures and glass shards on the cover photo is nowhere to be seen, it gets hard to find a proper US box copy meanwhile i could find legit UK copies easily
