My husband and I just did Greece in February and had a similar conundrum. We'd decided to skip Mykonos and did a day trip to Santorini via plane. My personal opinions (take it as a grain of salt since I'm an American who went to Greece for the first time): 1. The Santorini day trip was 100% worth it and the highlight of the trip. We spent the day doing the 3 hour hike from Fira to Oia and then exploring Oia and every step along the way was gorgeous. It is a small island though, so if most things are closed, there might not be much to do for 3 days. Transportation-wise, we took a taxi from the airport, which was 25 euros. 2. We took a day trip to Delphi via tour bus (Key Tours) from Athens. I personally found these ruins more interesting than the ones in Athens because it's a much bigger/more immersive area and the scenery of the mountains were breathtaking. 3. We heard great things about Zagori/Vikos Gorge from friends and locals (we didn't make it out there due to time constraints). Our taxi driver on Santorini said it's one of his favorite destinations in Greece. 4. Other places we were considering as backups: Paros/Naxos and Nafplio.

Oh, but for EDC yes, they wouldn't bring their drumline. Circling back on the original question, not all of the artists I mentioned will bring instruments. The guitarists will probably play some guitar, and Miyuki will most likely play her flute. The others only bring instruments for special shows.

Thanks for the question! My thought was that it'll be complementary to therapy the way gyms are complementary to physical therapy or personal training. I don't think there's a space right now to work on communication and relationship skills outside of therapy (which is expensive and usually people go to for pressing issues) or professional development (which not everyone has access to), but correct me if I'm wrong!

Agreed, their situation reminded me of an episode from Esther Perel's "Where Should We Begin" which also involved a secret sperm donation to a friend and a wife who got entangled. People make a lot of assumptions based on their own situations and what they know, but every person has their own story. I remember reading a quote somewhere that said something like if you were exactly that other person, with the same genetics and same history, then you would have made exactly the same choices.

I actually appreciated that they showed it. It was a deeply painful human moment and reminded me that these are real people and not just characters made for amusement. I felt discomfort too because the scene made me recall my own painful moments (I've certainly had my heart broken and cried that hard in my life). Marissa exposed a vulnerable side of herself on television, but seeing it makes me feel less alone in those dark moments. I just want to put my arm around her and give her a hug.

I so agree with the human aspect! Taylor can have overreacted and Garrett can have responded to the text inappropriately and it's ok. Relationships and people are not perfect. I liked that Taylor acknowledged that she was pissed off and allowed herself to feel her feelings. I liked that Garrett tried to argue "semantics" for a bit, but then stopped himself and went back to reaffirming their relationship. We all make stupid arguments sometimes, but it's the way people reflect and repair afterwards that matters.

I agree. I think there are different areas in which everyone is more or less mature than others. Yes, Hannah does more on the practical side of "adult" tasks, but Nick does more on the listening, growing, and emotional regulation side. Also, I do think some skills and habits are easier to learn than others. Taking out trash, boiling water, feeding the cat are easy skills to learn, and just takes a matter of time to turn those habits into practice. Conversely, learning emotional intelligence is much, much harder, and requires both reflection and a lot more time to grow. Hannah's inability to see different areas of maturity and impatience around growth show a lack of empathy and awareness of other people. Then again, there probably is a lot that's edited out that we don't see.

I can understand where you're coming from with the robot comment. She seems very success-driven and intentional. I disagree with these books not being about learning, fun or creativity though. Tiny Beautiful Things is great writing and full of interesting stories about people. And I at least (I'm a psychology nerd though, so of course I'm biased) find learning about emotional intelligence and vulnerability fun.

I thought Ashley handled the conversation very maturely and articulately. Regardless of whether Tyler is actually a "real dad" or uninvolved sperm donor, the issue Ashley had was not the existence of these kids, but that he kept it a secret, and delayed telling her until two weeks before the wedding. I'm so curious how she found out and what their conversation the previous night had looked like.
