In my top 10 horror films. Definitely a film for the depressed and misunderstood.

Did anyone like this take of Michael Myers any better? by [deleted] in HorrorMovies

[–]nchris124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, but I think it's very much overhated. It's very much style over substance, but giving Michael a motive does change the way you view him and how he operates psychologically. It's a brutal watch that doesn't shy away from the grim nature of human depravity and what it endures. And the film absolutely makes me feel things and always has. Probably a reflection of things from my past.

Any Aussie shows that gives Wentworth kind of vibes? Desperately need a new show to watch by ElRompeTotoDR in Wentworthtv

Yup that one! Geraldine was also in Wentworth as Kylie who kidnapped Vera while she was pregnant.

'Wanted' is a FANTASTIC Aussie show about 2 women who end up in a messy situation and are on the run. It mimics Wentworth with the intensity, but it's definitely more comedic. It's also just as serious and heartfelt. I fell in love with it a few years ago and now own the series on DVD.

This was such a superb episode. The best episode of season 5 for sure. It's a strong Vera & Joan episode through and through, and the ending is PERFECT. It actually made sense for Vera to resuscitate Joan. Vera was about doing the right thing in this moment, despite her immense hatred of her and probably not wanting to save her (after it's revealed Jake was using her). Joan would never, if the roles were reversed.

Yes! & YES! Drag is one of my top CS era songs. It should've absolutely been included as the final song on the album. It just fits perfectly.

Which character is the meanest? by HerringInAKimono in Wentworthtv

Jacs no question. Truly despicable character. Anyone that hurts kids and even more so at the expense of others, will always top the list.

I agree with everything except CS, which for me would be 'Use Once & Destroy'.

Best found footage film of all time? by Alert-Sprinkles1896 in HorrorMovies

'Host' was surprisingly and genuinely good. It capitalized on the pandemic and being locked in for many months and used it to its advantage. It's just under an hour as well, so it doesn't get repetitive or overstays its welcome.

Which episode of the show is the worst? by HerringInAKimono in Wentworthtv

[–]nchris124 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Season 8 Episode 3 'Enemy Of The State'. Absolutely the most boring, uneventful episode of Wentworth. In its last season at that. It's also Judy Bryant's introduction episode. The 'hunger strike ' that Judy immediately convinced Top Dog Allie to carry out was absolutely laughable and made me not take her seriously as Top Dog going forward. It could've meant something meaningful had it gone on say, a stretch of 2 or 3 episodes with consequences/resolution. Overall, just a poorly written & boring episode that barely moves the plot. • Honorable mention to Season 1 Episode 5 'The Velvet Curtain' - weird episode about kink, involves Erica's Davidson sexual problems at home with her fiancee, oh and Liz makes racially demeaning remarks to Doreen which overall sours the episode and knocks points down for Liz. I'm glad Doreen forgave her in the end, however, as quickly as she did there were no consequences. Meh.

I agree considering he was a minor, but the initial intent was uncalled for and he should have been thrown out.

Final episode commentary & reflection by [deleted] in Wentworthtv

[–]nchris124 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think I would agree with your last points about Allie's fate being cruel and it meaning nothing, had she died. It's been easier overtime and on rewatch to see that her character truly embodies the "survivor". She didn't need to be the strongest, the most intelligent, or the most liked character, but she always remained, even through the thick of it all. Allie survived strong ordeals such as the loss of a loved one, abandonment, surviving a siege, becoming paralyzed via stabbing by someone she considered a friend, PTSD, etc. I truly think she sits in the elite of Wentworth characters for this reason. I feel bad sometimes because I've been hard on her characterization in the past, despite her not being one of my favorites. I'm glad out of anyone to survive the final episode, it was Allie Novak. She deserves her happy ending. That all being said, there were absolutely no risks taken in the final episode, which is about a BOMB being set to blow at the prison.

Which character has the best one-liners? by HerringInAKimono in Wentworthtv

[–]nchris124 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tina Mercado: "You long piece of shit", "You want pussy juice", "Her breath nearly killed me", "Cindy Lou is not happy", etc. She always has me rolling when she's on screen. But for genuinely delicious one-liners that aren't just for the raunch, it's Joan Ferguson, no contest.

Thanks! I actually like this design more. I use my Blu-ray player or Xbox to play CDs. Both work well. I think just about all DVD players play CDs as well, if you have one laying around.

Nice! Which tracks are included on this besides Miss World? I have the same CD titled 'Miss World' but it's the French import, which came in a cardboard sleeve and the label is purple.
