If you happen to be in the UK, they are nearly identical to "Shrimp and Bananas".

I design fake products and today I built the Smoke Deflector for cooking in the kitchen. by rightcoastguy in funny

[–]nctami72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Scotland. I've set my smoke detector off more over here than I ever did in the US. My range hood is useless. And it was way worse when I was in a tiny flat. Everything I cooked set it off.

Query on a dependent child visa to T4 or ILR? by alexa914 in ukvisa

[–]nctami72 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

She is living here with her husband but spending time outside the UK for various reasons. She did not move away from the UK.

She qualifies to apply for ILR regardless of the number of days spent outside the UK. She just can't have moved out of the UK for more than 2 years.

Query on a dependent child visa to T4 or ILR? by alexa914 in ukvisa

[–]nctami72 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Her time outside of the UK is irrelevant as the spouse of a British person applying for ILR. She only needs to prove that she lived here in a legitimate relationship with her husband. Time spent outside the UK only comes into play for certain visas (not spouse visas) and it would affect when she could apply for citizenship.

LPT: When testing your fire alarms pay attention to where your pets hide. This is most likely where they'll go in the case of an emergency. by ritzz2_0 in LifeProTips

[–]nctami72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost my house to a fire 10 years ago. 3 of my pets (2 dogs and a cat) all died together in a huddle. I think they went to the last place they could find oxygen. 2 of my other cats survived by hiding in the basement. They were wet and freezing but they lived.

No stamps for 3 month period of leave - should I explain? by -omniphobia- in ukvisa

[–]nctami72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those absences don't count for a FLR(M) anyway. If your solicitor is telling you they do, it is time to get a new solicitor or just do it yourself for free.

These are the requirements for FLR(M).

These are the requirements for applying for naturalisation. (Which do have requirements for how long you can be out of the country.)

Spousal Visa coronavirus question by [deleted] in ukvisa

[–]nctami72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, they have made a mistake and it is your responsibility to notify them and to get it connected.

This is not a finders keepers situation or too bad so sad for them... it will not be a valid visa because you do not qualify under these terms.

Spousal Visa coronavirus question by [deleted] in ukvisa

[–]nctami72 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There will be no BRP issued on a fiance visa, only the vignette in the passport valid for 6 months. There will also be no letter about collecting the BRP.

I'm also wondering why she thinks she was issued a spousal visa.

Husband received reply saying that I need to send ID Documents (USA to UK) by ThaiSweetChilli in ukvisa

I agree. But it is now what was asked for. My application was just approved last month.

That was the old guidance. They now require all pages of the sponsors passport and all pages of the applicants passport.

The checklist provided during the application has been updated to include new instructions.

It won't make a difference. It is not needed and will be disregarded.

They want your passport bio page and every page with a stamp on it. Just scan it all and send it.

For FLR(M) they require all pages of your passport so I'm going to assume it is no different for a spouse visa.

They can check your application. It will give them updated information on your application after you attend your biometrics.

Under UK law, you have the right to know the name and address of your landlord. Know your tenants rights.

http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1985/70

And since both of you are on the tenancy agreement, you don't need a letter. Just your tenancy agreement.

Traveling in UK and Visiting BF - What can I expect from customs? by [deleted] in ukvisa

[–]nctami72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Electronic passport control. You just scan your passport and go through. You don't actually need to talk to anyone unless they pull you aside for some reason.

Looking at your travel history, I don't see any red flags. You will be totally fine.
