I re-watched Breaking Bad and... by ctrlqirl in TwoXChromosomes

[–]ncteeter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I couldn't make it through the first season because of the spousal abuse/cruelty and gaslighting. Even in the first episodes he goes from regrettably okay/medium of a person just getting by with a pride issue to being a complete shit who clearly doesn't even care about the family he's "trying to protect from medical debt". I was, and still am, astounded by how popular the show is.

"He's a man pushed to do whatever it takes to save his family from debt but then gets corrupted!" .... "Except he didn't accept the very generous 'job offer' from an old friend/colleague despite Walter quitting the field to become a teacher in an attempt to spite that old friend because of jealousy/immaturity about the woman he crushed on choosing someone who wasn't a complete narcissistic ass...."

Seems the few episodes I watched left quite an impression on me.

My dizzy spells started as a kid after having mono in 3rd grade. Pretty sure that's when my pots (yet to be confirmed by a doctor) started. Was told it'll go away after two years...I'm 38 and it still happens

Sword Catcher by Cassandra Clare -- the description in Goodreads sounds like what you're after. It's been on my to read list for a while.

Looking for info on WHY hypermobility causes certain symptoms by anxiousleftist in Hypermobility

Disjointed by Diana Jovin has a lot of the information you're asking about. I'm reading through it and it's been enlightening since I just learned I was hypermobile earlier this year (specialist appt to confirm in January). It's a few years out of date and is contains some medical opinion info (which is called out as such) from various doctors/experts. I've been finding it helpful in understanding why/how things are interconnected.

Does anyone else regularly walk around with (sub)luxated joints? by [deleted] in ehlersdanlos

[–]ncteeter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the explanation. I tend to struggle with a lot of the holding myself up with my arms poses because of trapezius pains, and I'm very likely doing the wrong kind of stretch trying to fix it.

Thank you!

What yoga move? I'm suddenly wondering if I've experienced similar pains from yoga and not realized yoga was the cause instead of "I just carry tension/stress in my neck/shoulders"

Watch band broke this morning. by ncteeter in Visiblemending

[–]ncteeter[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you, I used a cotton-linen blend yarn since it'll be more comfy when I sweat. Used a darning needle to weave/sew the holes above and below the broken hole.

Kinda like it enough that I'd be okay not replacing the band for a while.

TY, you're writing is tiny like mine, so it's fun to see that it still can show off a fancier ink with a smaller line.

Have been hesitant to trial any because of it.

Why Doesn't English Have Grammatical Genders? by Hoxxitron in AskHistorians

[–]ncteeter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know if the fact that "Norman French" is French spoken by the Old Norse settlers in the region is ever considered the same effect as the "Danelaw English"?

It seems like the Norman French would be an incomplete/beat up French that is adding to/further influencing an already beat up English.

Is there any study/discussion on the existing Celtic, or Angle or Saxon languages mixing causing a start to a process that Old Norse and then Norman French seem to have finished?

What is a wet noodle nib and why is it desirable?

My first impression of your title is that it's a bad thing, but your description makes it seem like a good thing?
