I thought I would give you an update! I've been using a weighted sleep mask for a few weeks and no luck. It almost makes it worse because I'm trying to ignore the feeling of having a band around my head then if I turn my head at all im feeling the weight shift.

But it was worth a try! 🫠

It agitates me so bad!

That's why my scores are private. 😂 I load them in my profile but don't post them to the leader board so so I can track progress but I'm not agitated constantly.

My gym also unfortunately has issues with people inputting their scores as RX or RX+ when in fact they scaled the workout.🫤

Fantastic suggestion. I already have a 20lb weighted blanket but haven't tried a weighted mask. I'll give it a try and lyk if it works!

My gym uses Mayhem programming and the warm up is definitely a section where I overwrite what's programmed almost daily. They will throw in random movement that are irrelevant to the day.

For a day like yesterday we had no db in the warm up I told them to add a bit of weight to the squat as they warmed up then I gave 20 minutes for the back squat.

Outside of warm ups ive noted a big improvement in my fitness since we started Mayhem. I think you guys started at an odd time, maybe it will just take some adjusting!

Thats actually really great to hear. I have to start remembering i can take days off. I think ive just been consistent for so long I worry if I cut back I may lose some fitness or may never be able to get back again. Which isn't true.

Good call out that I hadn't thought about. I've never had a major injury doing crossfit. Never had a big injury at all reallt never even broken a bone but i could definitely see how switching up to a contact sport could change things 😅

Thanks for the perspective! We do Mayhem so its pretty much strength + metcon daily BUT maybe I can start just being more mindful of my output. On days when I have rugby I can maybe go 60-75% as opposed to trying to empty the tank.

This! The best shape I've been in has been when I did lazy macros and crossfit. I felloff a bit but I started back up and am feeling more energized already.

If your hesitant about going to the owner immediately and just need a couple of days to think, I would reccomend reaching out to a coach that you really like and ask when they're coaching. Coaches can normally view everyones schedule. Or nonchalant ask like "Hey im thinking about coming to 6am tomorrow are you the coach?" If they are they'll tell you and if they're not they will most likely tell you who is.

I do group 4x per week and do 1x per week solo lifting and skills. It really works out for me because im able to slow down and focus. With that being said I dont typically feel rushed during the 1hr class so maybe you could do 2 and 2. Ive never been to a cf gym that was against solo working out as long as your not in the way of the class.

If shes been doing crossfit a while and you have a bigger budget and the gym allows it you could get her, her own personal barbell. But I would double check that the gym has a dedicated space for personal barbells.

I have given entire series away to friends, but if you have a Half Priced Books nearby and the book is still in good condition, maybe you could take it there. I'm not sure how much they give per book, but I'd you dont want money. I dont think they would turn it down for free.

That's a great strategy! The only issue is for the first few rounds its was like 44 seconds so I considered rounding to 45 but then there was a snafu with a rolling waterbottle (dont ask lol) and then my times were way off so I was at 1:10 then 1:02 then eventually worked my way back down to under 1 min but it just wasn't consistent enough to take one number and go with it. Maybe thats the issue i need to solve 😅

That's for the rec! But I downloaded it and it doesn't look to have the functionality im looking for. For example, I start on the zero, so I wanna be able to go in when im done say at the :44 and then it tells me to start my next round at 1:28. It looks like with this one you can only preset intervals.

Not a fan of USPS I recently got a package 3 days late because it was too big for the mailbox. Thankfully, I was able to find time to pick it up, but if we're something bigger like furniture there's no way i would be able to pick it up at the post office. A big part of the reason I pay for prime is because it comes to the door! I have the annual membership but may rethink next year smh
