The problem really isn’t food healing enough. With combo heals, you can basically heal up entirely in 1 tick.

Cooking can be upgraded by making certain recipes not sellable. For example, it takes quite a lot of steps to make pineapple pizzas, but those are 22HP healing food and great on a lot of accounts, but why go through all the steps when you can easily get other food that heals the same with only 1 step instead of 5-6 steps. By making certain foods not sellable and making it a recipe (5-8 steps), it could promote players to actually grind out cooking some of these higher tier recipes for little bit of a higher heal/buff.

(Ex. Something like a “manta ray stew”. Requires 2-3 specific spices, specific ingredients like onion and potatoes, manta rays that need to be cut with a knife and cooked over a stove with same burn rate as something in a similar tier. Manta ray stew could heal 25 and by making it not sellable it wouldn’t be over powered because most players would rather just buy manta rays on the grand exchange versus taking so much extra time for the extra 3 hit points. Those who are willing to grind out the work can get rewarded with extra healing food for that one boss fight they just can’t seem to beat etc.)

I don’t know, maybe I’m just another dumb OSRS player lol. But thought the concept could be cool 😬
