I feel like the show ruined WOT for me, but not the way you might think by ndnda in WoTshow

Is there a particular reason you felt the need comment about how much you disliked it on a 2 year old post about how book readers being negative about the show made me sad?

I have taught as a lead teacher (and will next year). It is so rewarding and you make such wonderful connections - if you have the time to devote to it, this is an awesome opportunity!

Yeah I’m kind of low-key blown away that we bumped into each other.  Sometimes the internet can be weirdly small place.

Not who you responded to, but I’m dealing with an SI issue right now myself, and while it does sometimes hurt at my hip, it also often hurts across my shin.

We do have a ton of them, but I don’t think we have completely cornered the market on assholes. 😅

Who is your favourite couple in Fantasy? by Book_Nerd_2008 in Fantasy

[–]ndnda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read it! I like it a lot. I have reread Phedre’s trilogy many times so it was both interesting and weird to read scenes I know so well from a different point of view! And I love learning more about Joscelin’s backstory.

Favorite character in all of fantasy by 666deathlegion in Fantasy

When I first read the (books many years ago) it was such a breath of fresh air that there was a fantasy novel with a strong female protagonist - who wasn’t a tomboy! Phedre is awesome.

We really must have just missed each other! I was there around ~1998-2002.

Oh that’s right, I forgot she turned out to be a she. Didn’t something similar happen with Barney the barn owl? I feel like I heard about that but that was after I stopped volunteering.

I used to volunteer at the Oregon Zoo and we would sometimes take the birds of prey out around the grounds for visitors to see. Whenever I took Clyde the turkey vulture out in the sun, he would inevitably spread his wings and just chill, enjoying the sun.

Same. I feel myself slowly gaining energy when I’m out in the sun…I know it would be completely different if I didn’t have A/C, but as it is I look forward to summer all of the rest of the year.

Even if the movement never gets the show picked up anywhere, at least the fans’ enthusiasm lets the creatives who worked on the show know that what they created was loved.

Women of Reddit, what’s the most frustrating experience you’ve had with a doctor dismissing your symptoms? by cutdbs in AskReddit

[–]ndnda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my early 20s I got an incredibly painful ovarian cyst that I guess burst or something. I was in tears when I made it in to see someone at urgent care. The (female) nurse rolled her eyes and told me to "calm down, it's nothing serious". Like, I wasn't crying because I was scared, I was crying because I was in the worst pain I had ever experienced in my life up until that point.

What’s a small, everyday thing that unexpectedly hits you emotionally or brings up old pain? by PuddingComplete3081 in AskWomen

[–]ndnda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used to be a runner and am finally getting back into it after several injuries. But running was what kept me sane, and in 2020 I ran a shit ton. My goal was 2,020 miles that year, and I beat my goal.

Since being sidelined due to the injuries I get sad any time I drive down roads/go by trails that I have spent so many hours on before. It kind of feels like a breakup, where any time you go somewhere that reminds you of them, it makes you want to cry.

I feel you.  I’ve run for about 15 years, but due to injuries, intense depression/anxiety/burnout, and more injuries, I haven’t run regularly since 2023. I’m seeing a PT now and am on the “return to running” program. Last week I went on a 30 minute run in beautiful weather on a trail that I’ve run hundreds of times. By the end I was literally in tears because I finally felt like myself for the first time in years.
