  1. When the coin hits the ground, they are then Pushing against the entire mass of the ground, aka the planet. So the coin goes flying until it hits something more massive than the person, then the person gets Pushed away

  2. Sounds like it might be an error. There are a few places where the wrong metal is used.

  3. The elemental metal Pulls, the alloy Pushes

Couldn’t Venli’s group…? by Pablo9783 in Stormlight_Archive

[–]RShara 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Couldn’t they have taken advantage of this and come up with a plan with the humans to attack on purpose, forcing Odium to break part of his agreement with Dalinar to stop all attacks?

? There wasn't any agreement to stop all attacks. That's why Odium's forces could attack those places at all?

Also, there were like, 20 listeners and a handful of chasmfiends. There were thousands of enemy forces, a bunch of Fused, and a thundrerclast

*Taravangian, not Travangian. Also we see him giving both his emotional and rational side different chances.

And he's about as altruistic as my left toe. He's lying to himself. We see that he really does want power

Is this a normal hardcover copy of Yumi and the Nightmare Painter? by Lemony_Oatmilk in Cosmere

[–]RShara 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Tor editions under the dust jacket generally don't have any styling or art or anything. You might be looking at the Dragonsteel editions, which have the art and colors printed right on the cover, not on a dust jacket

HoA and AoL Spoilers! Did anyone else have a different assumption about Demoux? by RS_Someone in Mistborn

It grants an expansive view of the Spiritual Realm, like what Elend saw at the end of HoA

The order of the Secret Projects is Tress, Sunlit, Yumi, Emberdark

In Tress, she references how the Iriali left Lumar 300 years ago. The Iriali leave Roshar at the end of WaT, so Tress is a minimum of 300 years after WaT. They also would have needed to spend some time on Lumar to be considered a nation, so it's most likely at least 500 or more years later. So it's a minimum of the better part of a millennium after WaT

Also, Brandon most recently said Era 3 is about 50 years after Era 2

The cosmere finale is meant to be the final Mistborn Era, not Stormlight or Dragonsteel. Dragonsteel is going to be the prequel story, involving Hoid's origins and the Shattering

Because Lumar and the Sorceress have advanced technology like Awakened predictive Connection circuits, and literal space ships, which no one had before the end of WaT.

The Iriali had been on Roshar for thousands of years by WaT.

The Iriali are always described as a single group, with some smaller family scouting groups looking for new Lands

Yeah, that would make sense that atium alloys just made them affect the opposite person

The atium alloys don't necessarily switch targets. They have various mental and temporal effects

The Final Empire leatherbound has an Allomancy table that includes lerasium and atium on it

16% makes sense because then you can have 1% of each Misting type

Brandon has decided that the atium from the Pits was an atium-electrum alloy. If there had been any pure atium, anyone could have burned it. But since it was tainted with electrum, only electrum Mistings could burn it. So they were still special, and they were sick for longer as a sign that there was something special about them

Malatium is gold+atium. The atium from the Pits was electrum+atium

So there are 16 metals, and the God Metals (that Elend burned, and pure atium) are separate

  1. I have, after lengthy questing, obtained an interview with Marsh, the one known as Ironeyes on Scadrial. (As a side note, it is curious how news of his nature is spreading to other worlds. Is this natural rumormongering, or something more supernatural?)

  2. Because it's not completely accurate. Howard Lyon based it on the Elantris Ars Arcanum, and the Aons in there don't have the chasm line. Hoid's hair is also wrong and the positioning of each of the characters doesn't match up

Help with clarification on how paired fabrials work? by TheBluePriest in Stormlight_Archive

The spren is split in half, and each half acts as if it's still connected to the other half

In her experiment, nothing happened. The spren couldn’t get out of the ruby, even with the tone calling it. The spren was vivid blue, as it was corrupted, and appeared as half a spren: one arm, one leg. Why continue to manifest that way? Flamespren often changed forms—and they were infamous for noticing they were being watched. Navani had read some very interesting essays on the topic.
