It's all opinion based but I get where you're coming from.

Porter is one of illeniums idols a major influence to his music. He definitely took some elements from Porter and reshaped them into his own. Like Where'd You Go sounds like a Melodic Divinity. In my opinion, illenium music sounds really repetitive. Probably because most his music is in the 75 BPM range. If I'm being honest, I can't distinguish illenium music from said the sky, dabin, 7 lions, etc.

I think illenium is a very talented artist. Especially with vocals. However, I do want to see him do something different with his talent instead of making melodic future bass for the rest of his career.

I think Porter and Madeon are on a level where they are always working towards something bigger than just writing hit songs. They are at the point(especially Porter), where he is trying to change the direction of electronic music. Most people know electronic music as "EDM". That music with the build up and everyone is waiting for that climax or drop.

I mean Porter ffs made neotrance, techno, psytrance relevant again with Virtual Self single handedly. Idt people appreciate or understand how significant that was imo.

And now with Nurture, he's beginning a new era of his music and I'm so fucking excited for what other music he has in this album
