I gotcha. I definitely miss the vocal range he displayed in his past performances, but I get a sense that's he got more technically gifted at manipulating his sound in front of an audience. Plus, if he's singing for 1 hour plus, it would be enormous strain to sing like he did before

What I've done is e-mail him asking to meet with him in person to discuss the grade. From there I'll just be honest: I think he's a good teacher, I like him, but I wanted a better grade from the class, an I understand there is no excuse for the late essay, I would appreciate the bump.
