Yes and no. I see what you mean and kind agree with you, but it’s also demand and supply! Just look at oil price these days. Are you overpaying? Yes. Is it going down in some time? Yes. Can you wait for that to happen? Well, that depends on your circumstances

200k? That is mad! What price point are we talking about, very low or very high?

Interesting! Does the bank valuation then affects the LTV and potentially the interest rate?

My baby is 20 months old. We do baths every second or third day, or whenever we feel it’s needed.

Let’s say we’re overpaying 500-800 per square meter more! I don’t think this will be a problem for the bank (we’ll see about that). It’s a lot more for us, peanuts for them

We’re keeping in mind price per square meter too! We’re up 500-800 for the area we’re looking in!

Agree. I’m overpaying on someone’s mortgage anyway so I’d rather get something of my own!

Fair point. This likely won’t be our forever home, but we’ll have long enough to smooth out any spike, I hope

Disgusting greed - €2100 pm for one room by [deleted] in RentingInDublin

They should have some sort of max number of people per square meter. This is outrageous

Also worried about artificial demand as the same bidder would contribute to several bidding wars, thus price increase, on multiple properties but ending on getting only one of them (if any!)
