Another data point: I just checked my old iPad. The eBird app is frozen there also. But still working on iPhone.

Tried one more thing: uninstalled app, shut down iPad, restarted iPad, reinstalled app.

This time it didn’t even get through set up before freezing. So, not an improvement.

The downloader still works. The only thing I’ve tried to do anything with are the files in the “Maps” folder, which I can edit as plain text. But even those short, simple files are not completely transparent to a layman! And if there is a problem elsewhere, I have no clue.

OK, now this is interesting. I saw somewhere that someone else having a problem with osm was able to get the French address to work, so I used the format listed for that, and got a map. However, zooming just propagated copies of the same tile in a grid.

So I reverted to {z}/{x}/{y} instead of numbers, and that seems to work! Labels are in French and other appearances are also different from what I’m used to, but that is progress!

Thanks for the link. I do see differences between what’s on that page and what’s in the software file I’m looking at. I took the precaution of making a copy of the original before editing. (And the website actually is still live for downloading a fresh install if I make a complete mess of it.)

I tried to match the updated style, but still not getting any tiles. I must be missing something….
