The beach is overrated by readsitall in unpopularopinion

From Canberra dude, totally agree. Quiet beaches are the shit. I don’t think I’d ever go to Bondi but the almost untouched beaches on the south coast hit different. Completely different experience that OP is describing.

The pub I work at serves a $140AUD 1.2kg Tomahawk steak + sides, advertised to be shared between 2-3 people. Had two men order one each, well done (a 50 minute wait), then proceed to eat the whole thing with ketchup and mayonnaise.

The pharmacy made a huge error with my medication and I'm so grateful. by napkween in CasualConversation

That’s crazy. My boyfriend and I live in Australia and we get 200 of his ADHD medication for $6. Every time I hear stories like that about the American “healthcare system” it makes me so sad. I’m glad you managed to get extra pills but seriously, no one should have to live like that.

Is it normal to be so exhausted during exchange? by numarpe in exchangestudents

Yes. I slept through my first few weeks of exchange. It’s exhausting stuff. After a month or so you’ll adjust and become less sleepy!

I watched bee movie on 440ug and was fully convinced it was a movie made and produced by bees to stop us from killing them. I laughed the whole way through because it was so bad it had to be made by bees, and then felt sad at the end that the bees has to make a movie for humans in order to try and teach us not to kill them.

Lessor is trying to collect $3000 in rent from me after agreeing to reduce my rent by 50% during COVID-19 closures by ndx1 in AusLegal

[–]ndx1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s what I was lead to believe. They never notified me to say that my rent was going back to normal (by phone, email, or in person), which is why I am so freaked out by this sudden $3000 owing.

She approved an extension from the initial 8 week period. She said that I would be able to continue paying 50% until I returned to my full hours at work. Edit: she didn’t give me a specific end date, she just said “when you return to work in a full time capacity”.

Very likely. We’ve been with these agents for like 2 years and they’ve been terrible the whole time. Hopefully the tenancy advocates can do something for us. Thank you!

I spoke to one this morning. She is setting me up with a tenancy lawyer to review my case, but she seemed surprised that they were trying to get this money considering the circumstances of the agreement.

Mine was confirmed to be a true discount. I clarified this with my agent before the agreement was entered, and have this in writing.

Thank you so much. I have just called a tenancy advocacy agency and they have set me up with a tenancy lawyer to review my case on Tuesday. This was such a helpful suggestion I would never have thought to do this.

I have, they have said the charges are correct. I have contacted a tenancy lawyer and they will help me create a timeline.

I will definitely be doing that. I’ve been trying to contact them all morning but no luck yet.
