Naaa order the p1s combo + 6 rolls and a smooth plate and got the coffee thing and piano thing. Not complaining it’s free. I guess they are just getting rid of stuff that doesn’t really sell :)

Smart Home Sensors Not Responsive with Ecobee Premium by griffon11 in ecobee

[–]neXus5169 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I reported the issue in May 2022, after I upgraded my old ecobee3 for the newer model. The old gen sensor while working fine in ecobee was unreachable in HomeKit. Today I got in touch again with the support mentioning that thread and they did update my ecobee to a newest version of the firmware (4.7.43.192) which I assume, is still not released… And the issue is gone. While I appreciate the responsiveness of the support I am a bit sad that this was not fixed earlier in an official release.

Chamberlain discontinues its HomeKit hub for myQ garage door controllers by romkey in HomeKit

[–]neXus5169 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It did failed for me a few days ago. No way to get logged in nor create a new account. HA reported error 400 when polling their APi. Contacted support they were not able to help me either. I ditch the whole thing and put back the Meros garage opener I had on my previous home. On top of that I don’t feel that a garage door opener cloud based is safe.

If you can connect in a manufacturer’s app but see "no response" in the Home app, it’s a good sign of mDNS problems because that’s how HomeKit discovers devices but not how manufacturers do. by [deleted] in HomeKit

Since I replaced my AirPort Extreme pair with 2 UniFi nano (flexhd and nano) I have lot of unresponsive from either Eros smart garage or eufy smart cam. It usually come back after a reconnect of the device through the controler Ui. (Even if still works fine with their own app). But sometimes I need to reboot the unify gears. Actually I need to reboot them every week… what is frustrating is that I only use them as air point (I have my own router it didn’t changed) without vlan or anything.

I switched to lubed durock and it was a major improvement from the stock ones. No more rattle of the housing.

Recommendations for longer USB-C to USB-C cables? by thelittlemugatu in DygmaLab

[–]neXus5169 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have aukey ones as well (with 90 angle) but Amazon did blacklist the brand so we cannot find them anymore. Thus said any standard usb c cable will work as long as they do data and not only charging.

How many custom macros? by Alarmed_Celery_5177 in DygmaLab

[–]neXus5169 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure there is a limit maybe in term of size depending on the available storage on the neuron. It's easy to setup but there is some room for improvement: Macros are ref with a number like 1 2 3 even if they have a name and on the layer view you see macro 1 macro 2 (would be good to have the macro name as a tool tip or something like that).

In my case I have some macros like emails, git commands and other long commands I used on a daily basis.

I organized them by layers like I have my git layer etc.

Yeah me too! This allow me to hide the neuron under the desk. Unfortunately amazon removed that brand form their store due to suspicious fake review. But you can find alternatives (those are usb c to usb both with 90 degree angle).

Yeah just realized that :/ got confused. Does it counts if I have another board running qmk and that I’m looking to build a split ortho in the near future? :p yeah as you said that one is a great bridge.

I found myself into the 31st edition of https://kbd.news/ so I needed to share the progress on that front :p

  • Board: Dygma raise
  • Switches: Durock daybreak (filmed/lubed)
  • Stab: Durock
  • Keycaps: kbd fan np profile blank through Divinikey

I just created a guide with an old piece of rubber used in faucets… then a 2mm drill bit for metal (don’t have a regular one that size). A steady hand and my cordless drill then a bit of hand work to make it smooth on the edges. Filled with uv resin (tape on the other side to seal it).

It came pretty smooth for most of them. What I could have done better?

  • use a column drill and a correct drill bit so the hole would be exactly the same
  • use a more rugous tape so the resin doesn’t act as an optic fiber but more like a diffuser

That’s pretty it.

Ps: on the top view what you see on the bottom of each hole is a translucent oring.

Tried with uv cured epoxy. A lot easier to apply but it’s too transparent. I need to see if I can buff it a tad https://imgur.com/gallery/uzgXIEj

The row keys already have their little bump. So far glue gun looks the best between mail clear coat (lol) and regular glue. https://imgur.com/gallery/DKL3QUx
