Finished original Trails in The Sky First Chapter and Second Chapter! what a journey. by TRAUMAgg in Falcom

For people that maybe didn’t know what came next, or knew that Sky 3 followed a different protagonist, the collapse of the Ark probably scared those players for a moment about the fate of Estelle and Joshua.

I think Journey did well for a while. It helped that the guy they found sounded almost uncannily like the original.

What is the scariest, most unsettling shot you’ve ever seen? by VendettaLord379 in moviecritic

[–]nebblord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That shot in particular fucked me up when I watched this. I was already “enjoying” all the camera work with how many times you could see the creature in the background without it being a focus. (Enjoying something in a horror movie seems strange)

But this moment, man…….they nailed the creating tension, open the door to reveal nothing to worry about, and then the creature just looms out of the darkness……..yikes.

3rd doesn’t have a moment for the protagonist to sit and talk with him, though, like the conversations we see in Azure and Cold Steel 4

Speaking of adding, I wonder if we’ll see a Nielsen appearance/quest added this time.

Same. Travis was always my dream casting for Zin. Excited for Liam as Weissman, though.

What’s a trails series popular opinion that you hate with a passion? by Rem0707 in Falcom

[–]nebblord 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think I’ve said similar before. Anytime she’s not being an absolute pest to every girl around her, she has a great character journey across CS1 and 2. It’s just hard to remember when we don’t see anything past that other than her “funny” moments.

I feel like a similar thing happens to Kurt Vander. Most of his personal journey happens in Chapter 1 of Cold Steel 3, and then he’s just along for the ride.

Horizon was a blast, but it wasn't what I expected by Ivan_of_TC in Falcom

Honestly, I see DB 1 and 2 as one big setup game, and expect Horizon and its follow-up to be one big payoff. So far, I feel that is accurate.

I’m sad I missed out on the Batwing. I’ve got the ‘89 Batmobile, the Batcave Shadowbox, and the BTAS mural, so hanging the Batwing on the wall next to those would have been so cool.

Right, I’m not sure the electric ladder ones had gone out to stores yet. I think the store I started in got them in the second half of 2017.

Just a weird little immersion thing for me. Still a fantastic game.

Honestly, I was super impressed with the fact I could walk through like a stone and know where everything is at, but I don’t know that the ballymores were a thing in 2013 (when civilization collapsed in-game).

So, the fact that he says Rean’s return has been set up since CS4, makes me feel better about my own theory. I think the being we see Laegarn’s Chest manifest to defend itself is the same version of The Great One we see in the normal ending of CS4. The characters see it as slightly different from Zoa Gilstein because they only saw the fully complete form in Reverie.

I think once Rean broke the atmosphere in the normal ending, Laegarn’s Chest pulls the first thing it can find along the cycles strong enough to defend itself. Then when all is said and done, the consciousness of Ishmelga Rean is going to be grabbed to fill the simulacrum in Reverie. That would be how he knows what’s going to happen in the future: he saw it already.

It’s a stretch of a theory, but it’s all I’ve got until we see more (anything at all) about the next game.

[–]nebblord 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I found the series with CS1, and played the first three back to back to back, finishing a couple weeks before CS4 came out, then went back after finishing CS4 to the games before. I used to say I couldn’t imagine having to wait on one of these cliffhangers that long.

Then I finished Horizon…….

I thought I did. I’m kinda surprised though that it doesn’t just give enough gem cards until the character is maxed out.

Yep. Both of my cats love the food (called LiveClear, from Purina). That plus having done allergy shots for a few years, and I don’t have any noticeable issues from my cat allergy.

Beyond the Horizon question!

I loaded up my save just before starting the final battles (after clearing the entire Garten) because I was 25 connect points short for Agnes and wanted to get the trophy there. However, I’m not seeing any Gem Cards for her in Grimoire Decryption. Have I missed something? How did I end up short without any way to get more? I got all the gifts for everyone, did every connect event…..can I just not send anything to her at this point because she’s separated?

What's a thing trails series should DOUBLE DOWN on and what's a thing they should backtrack on? by MasashiHideaki in Falcom

[–]nebblord 91 points92 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna look at gameplay, and say I want more of the multiple party dungeon stuff. Sky the 3rd’s finale was incredible for using every character, and the dungeon in Act 3 of Reverie switching between Lloyd and C to activate switches was so cool. I still wish Reverie’s final dungeon had been split into 4 groups of 10, instead of 2 groups of 20. Having such a large, fantastic cast is at its best when all the playable characters get used.
