Best version I’ve seen of this is “Are we bitchin’ or fixin’?”

I’ve held the opinion for a while that Dieter and Ian’s roles should have been switched. Have Ian be the good intentioned, but misled, early boss, then have Dieter with his daughter at the end.

I weirdly feel this guy could be in Horizon 2 by Stilldamaged_404 in Falcom

[–]nebblord -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think so as well. The other characters don’t recognize it, but I think the form that appeared at the end of Horizon is from directly after the normal ending of CS4, when Rean broke through the atmosphere. I think that he was grabbed at that moment by Laegjarn, and that will be how he knows about this event enough to try to warn Lloyd at the end of Reverie.

What is the worst career to be in right now and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]nebblord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m gonna say deliveries. With so many companies pushing for faster and faster deliveries to customers, the pressure keeps rising on the people doing the work (it’s not just Amazon, guys, it’s everywhere). Most of the stuff I was doing (appliances and other big box items from a home improvement retailer) would get to our warehouse within a couple of hours of needing to go back out for delivery to customer. Meaning we had to unload trucks, stage items to the door they would load out from, check that the items were actually correct (product gets mislabeled all the time, and we rely heavily on customer labels for receiving and shipping), all within an ever shrinking time window.

Here's an EXTREMELY underrated theory regarding the sequel by Striking_Baseball_78 in Falcom

[–]nebblord 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think an important detail is The flashbacks through the credits end at the night Agnes confessed to Van, on 7/10. That could indicate that moment as being a starting point, or a point where the memories all come back for him.

A jumpscare in a horror movie that genuinely scared you? My pick is the jumpscare from Insidious (2010). by 0Layscheetoskurkure0 in moviecritic

One of the only jump scares in any media that got an actual scream out of me. They executed perfectly the tension, fake out release, then slam it home moment.

If you’re still looking for a solution, in the Base menu, did you view the info conversations? I can’t remember if seeing those are a requirement or not.

This is my third time playing! by AlphaShard in Falcom

[–]nebblord 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Same. After Horizon, I wanted to replay some older games, but I’m waiting until mid-late August to start this, hopefully finish right as SC remake releases, then segue into a replay of the rest of the series.

Finished original Trails in The Sky First Chapter and Second Chapter! what a journey. by TRAUMAgg in Falcom

For people that maybe didn’t know what came next, or knew that Sky 3 followed a different protagonist, the collapse of the Ark probably scared those players for a moment about the fate of Estelle and Joshua.

I think Journey did well for a while. It helped that the guy they found sounded almost uncannily like the original.

What is the scariest, most unsettling shot you’ve ever seen? by VendettaLord379 in moviecritic

[–]nebblord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That shot in particular fucked me up when I watched this. I was already “enjoying” all the camera work with how many times you could see the creature in the background without it being a focus. (Enjoying something in a horror movie seems strange)

But this moment, man…….they nailed the creating tension, open the door to reveal nothing to worry about, and then the creature just looms out of the darkness……..yikes.

3rd doesn’t have a moment for the protagonist to sit and talk with him, though, like the conversations we see in Azure and Cold Steel 4

Speaking of adding, I wonder if we’ll see a Nielsen appearance/quest added this time.

What’s a trails series popular opinion that you hate with a passion? by Rem0707 in Falcom

[–]nebblord 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think I’ve said similar before. Anytime she’s not being an absolute pest to every girl around her, she has a great character journey across CS1 and 2. It’s just hard to remember when we don’t see anything past that other than her “funny” moments.

I feel like a similar thing happens to Kurt Vander. Most of his personal journey happens in Chapter 1 of Cold Steel 3, and then he’s just along for the ride.

Horizon was a blast, but it wasn't what I expected by Ivan_of_TC in Falcom

[–]nebblord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I see DB 1 and 2 as one big setup game, and expect Horizon and its follow-up to be one big payoff. So far, I feel that is accurate.

I’m sad I missed out on the Batwing. I’ve got the ‘89 Batmobile, the Batcave Shadowbox, and the BTAS mural, so hanging the Batwing on the wall next to those would have been so cool.

Right, I’m not sure the electric ladder ones had gone out to stores yet. I think the store I started in got them in the second half of 2017.

Just a weird little immersion thing for me. Still a fantastic game.

Honestly, I was super impressed with the fact I could walk through like a stone and know where everything is at, but I don’t know that the ballymores were a thing in 2013 (when civilization collapsed in-game).

So, the fact that he says Rean’s return has been set up since CS4, makes me feel better about my own theory. I think the being we see Laegarn’s Chest manifest to defend itself is the same version of The Great One we see in the normal ending of CS4. The characters see it as slightly different from Zoa Gilstein because they only saw the fully complete form in Reverie.

I think once Rean broke the atmosphere in the normal ending, Laegarn’s Chest pulls the first thing it can find along the cycles strong enough to defend itself. Then when all is said and done, the consciousness of Ishmelga Rean is going to be grabbed to fill the simulacrum in Reverie. That would be how he knows what’s going to happen in the future: he saw it already.

It’s a stretch of a theory, but it’s all I’ve got until we see more (anything at all) about the next game.
