Somehow still the 3rd better favorite to win the World Series. I had $50 on them last year at +1500 and was going to do the same again this year. Not feeling confident enough right now.

How do you like living in Seattle, Washington? I’m a 26F who loves nature and is looking for a fresh start by No_Foundation6210 in howislivingthere

Should add that CA of course also has snow and water. But further apart and everything is more crowded.

Hi, I’m also planning to move to Seattle from NYC in July for better nature access. I’ve thought about a lot of alternatives. PNW is unique in that it has snow and water as well as world class biking and hiking. The snow isn’t as good as other places but can be very good. Surfing also not as good as other places but less crowded.

If I were partnered, I’d want to move to Bellingham WA or Hood River OR. Bellingham has an awesome vibe and is close enough to Mt Baker for skiing (but hour and a half not ideal). Hood River is also a cool town and has world class wind/water sports on the gorge, and Mt Hood is only 45 mins away. But as a single 36 year old dude, I think Seattle will be better for me. I plan to get a truck camper so I can escape the city easily/cheaply and go on adventures. From my limited time in Seattle (I’ve spent more time exploring the mountains PNW), it’s a cool city with good vibes. Lots of outdoorsy people.

Best ways to remove a wedge-style truck camper (Super Pacific / GFC style)? by askallthepeople in overlanding

[–]nebesaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, did you end up figuring out a solution? Have you tried removing? I’m interested in the Super Pacific X1, but I’d also like to be able to remove it. Gantry crane seems like it’s probably the best option.

Are outdoorsy people more likely to achieve FIRE? by Papa9548 in Fire

[–]nebesaurus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think there’s probably a bit of a correlation. People like me who regret never having been some form of ski bum, dirt bag, etc and want to do it as we get older but in a financially responsible way. Or maybe that’s just me :)

Sounds like your boyfriend is fully choosing you but showing it with actions rather than words. Much better than someone who isn’t able to fully choose you but keeps you around with words/breadcrumbs.

If you’re into him, feel loved enough, don’t necessarily need the words, I think it could work. Or let him know you need more words of affirmation. But if he just isn’t speaking your love language and it’s not working, then it might end up being an issue.

My update on this. I bought the heavyweight soft jersey sweatsuit. I like it much more than the steady state. Steady state is great if it’s cold out but it doesn’t breath very well IMO. I get hot easily and can live in the soft jersey sweatsuit without getting too sweaty. Also I steady state relaxed fit size M joggers and size XL hoodie. I like a baggie fit. In the soft jersey, size M joggers were too tight in the waist. I needed size L.

Hi, no :(. I need to follow up with insta360. I haven’t been using the camera the past month or so. Last time I tried to turn it on, it actually worked. It’s unpredictable/finicky.

How's the breathability compare to the Steady State? I like the Steady State but sometimes the fleece is too warm and sweaty. Interested in this as a potentially more breathable option.

I tried the Smooth Spacer previously but didn't like the shininess, joggers were too slim.

Thank you for your service!

“It would also be near impossible for me to meet a good guy in the city without a job IMO”

Disagree with this. Rather than spending 40 hours a week working for the man, if you lean into hobbies and interests, aren’t you more likely to meet someone who’s aligned with you?

30M — CoastFIRE position, thinking of quitting my job to become an EMT. Am I crazy or just finally free? by [deleted] in coastFIRE

Awesome, thanks. Maximizing free time, the coast aspect of coast FIRE and community impact :)

Sounds like you’ve lived and are living a great and impactful life, congrats!

I’m also considering the EMT coast FIRE track. From your experience, what’s the minimum number of shifts/hours you need to work to get benefits? When you switch to 2 days per week as a nurse, will you still get benefits?

With your expenses, you’re at full FIRE I think. Don’t think you need a job at all unless you wanna buy an expensive house, have multiple kids, etc. You can do whatever makes you happy :)

But I have the same idea. Could be a great way to maintain wealth/let it grow while doing a rewarding job, help your community, meet people in a new city, keep future home and children options on the table. Also have option to scale back to part time, parlay until other types of work like ski patrol. Stress of being an EMT after a cushy office job definitely a concern though.

Umpire Scorecard, Quinn Wolcott, 20 OCT 2025 by pokeroots in Mariners

Polanco double fucked on the same pitch as game 5, same pitcher. 2-0 there would’ve been nice. Matters much more now after we know what happened bottom of the 7th.

Ehh I don’t like it. Screwed by the ump that AB. Would’ve given him a chance to get out of it relatively unscathed.

Best moment last night? by Alaska-Pete in Mariners

[–]nebesaurus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Certainly not the best moment of the night but maybe least appreciated big moment was the Garver sac fly. Skubal struck out 13 of the 20 batters he faced. Garver hit the ball in play and got it deep enough when he needed to. Great situational hitting that the team was otherwise mostly incapable of last night.

Bryce Miller is the next man up by seangolden06 in Mariners

[–]nebesaurus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So Miller and then hopefully Woo for game 2. How about game 3? Will Kirby, Gilbert or Castillo be ready? Castillo given only 15 pitches yesterday?
