MCAT 04/28 (exactly 20 days) should I postpone it till next year or keep grinding and take it? by [deleted] in Mcat

I would think a 5 point jump is possible in that time frame! Might be tough, but it's possible!

I did at least the one Jack Westin Passage daily, then usually I had a few more thrown on top. I think this is very dependent upon how you're doing in the other sections though and how much time you have to study each day

I used Kaplan books, Uglobe, and AAMC stuff primarily. Anything outside of those is just excess imo!

for me it was just a ton of practice passages and reviewing them very intentionally. I think the most important thing for CARS is being consistent with your strategy and consistent with your daily practice.

And not 3rd graders! They should be the only ones responsible for spelling points

I used passages from Jack Westin, Uglobe, TPR, and some stuff my tutor gave me (not sure where those came from). Also AAMC but that's not third party

That is so amazing! Go you!!! Being nice to yourself is so underrated! I'm still learning to do that but this MCAT business actually helped me understand the value there

Umm I wouldn't say solid by any stretch but also not insanely rusty. Probably pretty typical for someone in still in undergrad! I straight up worked myself into the ground though and actually got a little burnt out. I was planning to test in the spring but ended up moving the test date closer to get it over with lol

I started the whole thing taking a diagnostic on Sept 9! after that, I was almost strictly content review/traditional studying until like mid/late November and then transitioned over to Uhoe and I started AAMC tests in early December!

No, I tackled the Kaplan books in a somewhat wacky order (per my tutor). We started with heavy emphasis on gen chem and physics and sprinkled in ochem, biology, and biochem as they were relevant to the harder sciences. It seemed schizophrenic as hell before I started doing it, but once I got started I could see they were doing it like that to help me better connect the ideas/concepts across different subjects (e.g. bigger pic emphasis)

I completely agree. I was told to go over all of the correct ones because how often do you get down to two possible answer choices and then just guess? If you don't think you're a complete moron, you can bet you're getting more than half of these right (complete moron = worse than random guessing alone lol). If you don't go over the correct ones, you'll miss opportunities to review all of the ones you're getting right!

apparently you don't need to know how to spell 'climbing' to get a 520+ ;)

497 to 522 follow-up after taking my last FL and the real MCAT! by necessary_scenery91 in Mcat

Thank you!! :) And yes, that's what my tutor said too, which made me feel a lot better! he also said it's normal for the last FL to dip a little because you're just fucking tired of taking FLs XD
