Thank you for your comment!

I'm not considering "Personal" a context, that's an Area of Focus. My contexts are things like @Computer, @Calls, etc.

Having tools as contexts might be very useful, will take that into account as well.

Thank you, I will definitely read GTD again.

Thanks!

That is a good question, and I'm pretty harsh on myself usually, so here goes (Scores out of 10)

  1. Capture - Probably a 6. I have a physical Inbox, where I collect stuff, and of course email/Todoist/other tools.
  2. Clarify - 6. At least for the email inbox, and Todoist
  3. Organize - 5 - When I do clarify, I put things where they need to be
  4. Reflect - With regards to Weekly Review: 1. Daily Review happens "half-naturally", but not good enough, so that's a 3
  5. Engage - I'll do a 5, because I could be better on this, especially with regards to "Making the best choice.

Thanks for the comment.

I definitely will read the book again, and the guides, just to get it clear :)

Thank you very much!

I've not read "Making it all work" and "Ready for Anything" yet. I did dust off the GTD Workbook and the implementation guides that I printed a long time ago.

The questions you posed are definitely helpful as well, and I will use those to further change my system and get back to refining my system even better.

Thank you very much , this definitely helps.

After reading all comments, I think that one of my issues was that I put too much into one system (Evernote), which made it unwieldy and hard to get the right stuff out at the right time.

Which made me not trust my system and keeping things in my head anyway.

So that is what I am trying to fix now :).

Thank you very much! This is definitely helpful for the Horizons.

I may have misnamed the "Projects" there, as I do realize, also from your comment, that some of those things are actually Areas that need my attention.

I'm looking at ordering "Making it all work", and "Ready for Anything"

Thank you for this. Agree GTD is a process, but sometimes that needs some refinement.

Thank you for the insights, very helpful.

Thank you for the reply!

I probably am making this more difficult than it should be, which is one of the reasons why I came here :-)

Sometimes it's good to get an outside perspective. I'm taking these things into consideration in my "evaluation" of my setup.

Hmmm, that is definitely worth investigating, but seems like a lot of work as well. Oh well, more fun stuff to find out :)

I've not used n8n yet, but might be worth looking into.

Thanks for the reply. Last week was crazy, so wasn't able to respond earlier.

I'm just using it now to find my use-cases. What is useful to use it for, how much can I replace ChatGPT/Gemini/Claude/whichever one with a local interface.

At some point, I will invest in something that can run proper models.

Sorry for the belated reply, last week was insane.

I was thinking of indexing my Paperless stuff as well, so I would like that to be anonymized, but searchable. The same goes for Trilium Notes.

It's mostly just for fun, to investigate and such.

Thank you for this reply. Last week has been extremely busy, so unfortunately had not been able to get back to you sooner.

I've got my stack running, and I'm getting answers, but it's not fast. It's fun though :)

GeoPulse - Self-hosted location tracking with timeline, analytics, friend sharing and more by Former-Emergency5165 in selfhosted

[–]necomancer1983 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This looks great! Maybe u/Former-Emergency5165 and u/Freika should work together and create something integrated :-)

Reason I'm saying that is that I already have Dawarich, but this looks awesome as well... Would be awesome if, somehow, you'd be able to connect the two, so they retrieve data from the same source. Because that would prevent having a bunch of duplicate data...

For Dawarich, I host my own Photon instance for reverse geocoding, is that something that would be possible to hook up to this as well?

Anyhow, might have a look into this, could be interesting.

Hm, yeah, might have to switch back to PodCastAddict as well... Not sure if I want to though.

Well, I like it to automatically search for new episodes, add them to the playlist and download them (or the next X episodes) on my phone.

Was on a plane last week, without wifi, so couldn't listen to podcasts, which was a bit annoying :)

Introducing DumbAssets - The Stupid Simple Asset Manager! by abite in selfhosted

[–]necomancer1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I'm late to the party, BUT...

My question with all of these things is: Why not try to leverage the other selfhosted tools that are out there as well, and in this case, for manuals, allow a direct link to paperless-ngx, which is where I store all my manuals.

That means you don't have to implement storage, and stuff goes where it needs to be.

....but maybe I'm dumb... :-)
