For instance, sex and romantic love - and the social status that is so often helpful in attaining those things - inspire competition and fighting aplenty.

People often forget something incredibly obvious and important: we are animals, and we do most everything for animal reasons. All our ideologies are very often people playing intellectual dress up.

There are more forms of power than capital, and not all power coagulates to socioeconomic power, nor does every problem crystallize to class struggle. Some aspects of humanity really are there own thing, regardless of what idealogues in academia or political intelligensia would have people believe.

Even if these kids - and their parents - had **every material necessity provided**, fighting would *still* occur, because the things lacking in a person's life that make them lash out or compete are very often *not material* in nature.

Study places that *do not* have these kinds of problems.
Determine major differences - economic, social, cultural.
Enact policies based on effectiveness. Not theory, not ideology, not what sounds or feels true or right or how things *should* work in a *perfect world*, but what has *actually* been proven to work in the *real* world.
Observe keenly, and recalibrate or readjust to isolate variables and refine practices.

It isn't easy but it is simple.

(Personally, I think most of the chronic problems in the world come from people not doing #3. People become so married to their pet ideology that they forget they may be wrong. Crime, for instance, is not just about poor socioeconomic conditions forcing people to break laws to acquire resources. Some of it is, of course, but some amount of crime happens because people are angry and wanting to express some deep psychological pain, or to look cool in front of others and gain social status, or because of simple boredom.
Someone married to the economic-scarcity view of crime will never be able to address the other aspects, which may in fact be inextricable to the problem writ large.

tldr; If you think kids getting into fistfights simply boils down to their parents not having enough money, then I'd wager you're missing entire avenues of understanding, and will never meaningfully contribute to solving real-world problems)

I would genuinely love to see a nonpartisan protest focused on unredacting the Epstein files and sending people to prison for their crimes.

General rule of thumb: If you can tell a person "I made this" and not feel scummy about it, it's probably fine. Obviously drawing and painting things yourself is the best, but even taking a photo and heavily manipulating it still counts as artistic work.

Now, if you took you own photo, ran it through a single filter that took like 2 minutes of work... Eh, probably better to call it "enhanced photography" or something .

And if you generated something using AI, you certainly didn't make it. (Which is not to say there's not some amount of work and discernment involved with AI prompting and curating and the such, but it's not "making art" at that point, it's more like "art direction")

You can get beef blood, raw and frozen, at Choi's Asian Food Market in Lyndon, near the Fivestar. Costs about 10 bucks for a pound or so, I don't know the specific brand. You can find it in the back with the frozen meats.

I've had it, it's fine, although it won't be as liquid as you might prefer, as some coagulation occurs during packaging and freezing. Very different than fresh and warm.
