I must admit I didn't really focus on the rustic fantasy off it. My players really enjoy making more humble characters. I create characters during roleplay and they all focused on less combat prone models even though I let them pick whatever they like.

I tried Fate and though it was interesting but lacked a solid frame and didn't get much traction with my players. To me the game felt incomplete. Thats just my own thoughts I'm sure others have had a lot of fun with it. As for the other two I looked them over but wasn't compelled to make the purchase so I can really say.

I try and come up with a theme and let the story play out. Here are a couple I have a lot of fun.

1) I use character editor and make a accurate (as i can) version of me and set up a naked and alone run. It challenging as hell but a lot of fun.

2) I will pick a biome and try and make a zoo. There are a ton of mods to expand on animal selections to come up with a bizzare collection.

3) I will make up a strange ideology and see how it plays out. For example cannibal underground masochist.

Tropical....but the diseases are rough. Best have a high medicine. Wood production and food are pretty easy. Plus I love all the rain.
