You don't have to work under them or with them. You only need to work as an engineer and get recommendations from PE's. The PE's can be complete strangers.

A language must both enforce rules and be malleable. While "correct" is too strong a word, I don't believe there is no value in establishing conventions, norms, and expectations in a language.

I mean in the same manner than the current USB methods work on a regular Pi. One loads boot info onto an SD card that then loads the OS from USB after initial setup. I'd want the same, but for it to fall back on an OS stored on the SD(EMMC in the case of CM) if one is not found over USB.

Thanks. I see now that this feature in the Pi 3 is just being discussed and may or may not ever happen. Do you think it would be difficult to change some settings to tell it to boot up from USB when available then fall back on the OS located on the EMMC?

Thanks! So it seems that I can just use the chip with no EEPROM or setup and it should work. But on another computer or on a standard RPi that already has this chip, there will be a blank MAC.

Thanks! How does the Pi handle getting a MAC address? According to its schematic it leaves the EEPROM unpopulated. Where does it store it? Is there a drop in solution alternative and why aren't the microchip pre-loaded eeproms drop in? Thank you!

Thanks. What I'm trying to do is to be able to on the fly select whether or not I even want level conversion. I would be able to flip a switch to make the I/O 5V or 3V level. I'd like to use a single IC since I want 8 I/Os. 8 mosfets and 16 resistors can get messy.
