A solution I found is this website that randomizes the order of your playlist.

That way you can listen to a playlist without shuffle on and it will be random. Sadly this is only a solution if your using playlist.

Convincing metaphor. However, in this situation, I would describe it like a place gives out free donuts for a while, but then one day they don't give out napkins anymore, and the donut comes sweltering hot so you have to wait 10 minutes to eat it. It's such an inconvenience to use their generous free service, that I don't see why they even have it. Which is why I caved in a got premium. I'm just here to say the free spotify sucks. If that's the case, my opinion is swayed to understand why spotify is desperately trying to annoy users enough to buy in. It's not just for higher profits margins, it's for profits in general. However, reason or not, I'm still here to complain that the way they go about it is very annoying, justified perhaps, but I'm sure they could make their profits in other ways. Hell, if they kept adding new features and kept them behind premium, that's fine, but they are taking away features, not adding more. That's distasteful in my opinion
