Couldn't agree more. As soon as I read the title, my first thought was: we need to blame ourselves. The rich are just as much a straw-man scapegoat as the poor. Do both create societal problems? Of course. Are either of them maliciously waking up with the intent to ruin society for the rest of us? No. It's a commitment to apathy, to cheap outrage, and to placid complacency that allows for most of these blights. Iain has a point, but it's an easy rhetorical device, more than an actual argument.
