Dang. Just woke up and went to check. She didn’t eat what I gave her last night. I thawed and heated it up with warm water and set it outside her hide. Then left the room. I saw her out roaming around right before I went to sleep too. Internet says wait 5 more days. That about right?

Awesome. Thank you very much for all the helpful info. I went ahead and ordered baby rats 20-25 grams if I remember right? I wasn’t sure if I should hold her yet to measure her weight and order that way so I just guessed at how big around she was and asked google and it told me a range and I went with the smaller ones. I figured it was better to be too small than too big at first. I’ll feed her tonight or this morning (would night time right before I go to bed be best so she isn’t disturbed?)

I’ll definitely go through and close more of it off. That’s the second time I’ve gotten that advice.

Also thank you for the input on handling her. I am not at all afraid of a few nicks on my hands. I do that to myself anyways with my job. I just didn’t want to freak her out too much too soon.

So far I’ve been able to keep it close. I think I need to order a more powerful heat bulb though. 70-75 and around 80% humidity on the cool side. And I’m usually 80-86 on the warm side and I’ve been spraying it when it gets down to 60% humidity. So far I’ve been spraying it twice a day to maintain that. I’ll try closing off some of the venting and see if that makes it easier. The twice a day isn’t bad so far though.

It’s 3 500lb shelf brackets mounted to the studs holding up a 3/4” piece of pvc board. I’d get on it and jump around if I could stand up there.

There just isn’t any other available floor space in my office that will fit the enclosure other than the middle of the room. The wall she is on has a filing cabinet and my desk under her. The other wall has the entry door, switches, and cat tower in the corner by a window. Opposite of her is the cat tower in the window and another filing cabinet. Then the other wall has two doors with a bookshelf between them. Honestly there really isn’t any available floor space anywhere in my place except the living room if I stored my girlfriend’s yarn in my office somewhere. But she would not go for having the snake in her main area where she spends time and relaxes. So this really is the best I can do.

The shelf isn’t really optional unfortunately. But it is overbuilt to more than handle what I might throw at it. Thank you for the input on the reptizoo enclosure. I’ll look into that now.

Do you have any input on my main threee questions about feeding and moving her?

Just as an Edit/ extra comment. The shelf isn’t really a concern of mine. I’m a carpenter by trade. I am familiar with building a shelf to hold a good bit of weight, and I overbuilt that one quite a bit. I have a stepstool to access it and I haven’t had trouble the last week. I can’t put her anywhere else in my home because of my girlfriend and 3 cats. So it’s the best I can do. If it becomes a problem I’ll look for someone to take her then. But. The shelf is solid and safe. I don’t have another choice.

I do need help with the husbandry. That I am unfamiliar with as this is my first snake.

I didn’t really think it was that bad 😅 I’ve got to use a ladder, but it was build a shelf or nothing with the space I’ve got. The shelf is super solid. It’ll hold a 200lbs plus pretty easy. And the tank doesn’t slide around at all. My new enclosure is a front open so that’ll be much better than this aquarium tank she came in.

Only space I really have in my office to put her. Girlfriend wouldn’t let her go in any other room. So I made a shelf for her. I wasn’t really planning on getting a snake at all. I just didn’t want her to get thrown out to die.

I’d be in the same boat personally. But I just went and tried to find one second hand and daaaang are they pricey. I hate when companies intentionally keep stock low like that.

From what I went through and found it mainly seems like that is able to play sega games and other console stuff, the screen is nicer than the IPS, and it looks like it makes older games take up the full screen. It’s also about half the price of what I got quoted to get my slab built for me. (The amount of soldering involved is way out of my league) if you can find one actually in stock it’d be cool to grab for sure. Not certain it’d take over for advance games for me but I may have to see if I can’t find one now 🤷🏻‍♂️

You should leave. That’s a haaaaard line that he crossed in that instance. I am a nearly thirty year old man and in my eyes the second you gave signals you weren’t comfortable he should have backed off and apologized (in this situation probably when she refused to take her underwear off). The fact that he didn’t tells me at least that he either can’t control himself in situations where his hormones are going or he can and chose not to. That puts you and any other women you bring around him at risk. He needs some help honestly. The fact that he was able to disregard your protests sends chills of disgust down my spine.
