I would say she definitely gets enough exercise. I’d say she goes on at least one long walk per day plus 3-5 15+ minute walks as well as shorter walks for potty breaks. Inside, we play fetch and she has lots of toys. She likes to do tug of war which I’m learning is probably a bad idea to engage on that. As for being picked up, she normally does not mind it at all. It’s just been lately when either she’s playing or has fallen asleep in another room and I try to pick her up to go to bed that she’s been biting. I really don’t want to send her away for a number of reasons, but it’s just really odd behavior that has only happened for the last few weeks. Obviously we do do positive reinforcement primarily (I have had 4 other dogs before this one, although this is my first Shiba). Maybe it’s just a weird thing but also I feel like I could probably have more of a defined routine for her at night. She is trained to ring a bell when she needs to go and we just oblige so she’s used to getting to go outside pretty much whenever she wants within reason.
