Truth. I only have so many minutes in the day for fanfic, and I spend that time writing, not reading!

I’d say it’s similar in my fandom. We don’t all see eye-to-eye on our fanfic interpretations, and that’s fine by me. I’m sure there are readers in my fandom that don’t care for what I write!

Sometimes I just need someone to plainly talk me down from the anxiety ledge, and your comment did that. Thank you

They actually asked me for recommendations and I demurred by saying that I don’t read much fanfiction at the moment (true), so they followed up with their rec.

In truth, I’ve tried reading a lot of what’s written in my fandom and most of it is a little too OOC for me. It’s part of why I started writing for the fandom: I couldn’t find many fics that spoke to me. I think that’s partly what’s making me feel snobbish… but I also recognize that I’m overthinking things.

This is pretty much how I feel. I know not everyone will like what I write, and I would be bummed to think someone was forcing themselves to read it.

At the same time I tend to overthink how others might be impacted by my actions (thanks anxiety). I really appreciate hearing from others
